I propose that Guesting only be allowed if you you are apart of a guild on that Server. The only reasons people are guesting is 1)World boss chest 2)Gathering Nodes and 3) Playing with friends. Number 3 should be the main reason someone guests on a server.
People will obviously cry “This is a ‘dumb.’ I want to play with my friends, but they’re on a different server.” Easy solution—Join your friend’s guild or have your friend join your guild. I may be mistaken, but I believe there is a limit of 6 guilds per account, which if it is, is a good amount per account. Let alone only being allowed to guest on two servers w/in 24 hrs. Having “friends” on a server is too easy to exploit as people can post on forums their servers and simply “friend” them to be able to guest on a different server. That would not solve the Home server overflow issues as there are ways of bypassing that.
Now there are ways to “exploit” this too so here are some other suggestions as to keep the exploits at bay. Require some sort of wait time for either leaving a guild or being kicked from a guild. Maybe 2 hrs for leaving and 30mins-1hr for being kicked. Something like that. If someone is willing to go through all the hassles of leaving a guild just to farm nodes or world boss chests let them. I see that process as tedious and would not want to leave, wait an hour, join a different server only to find out that I’m on an overflow or the world boss is dead.
These aren’t full proof ofc and need more thinking over. This is just to get conversation going as to how to combat Home Server overflows. Please be civilized and try not to flame one another.
