PVE Players Are FiNALLY Getting Fed up
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/84416-guide-minmax-dungeon-groups-with-any-class-composition/
I totally agree. Just 10 man dungeon with some rewarding new skins (similar to flame legion one) or something similar would be perfect. You just cant still wait till players will leave your game and then release info about expansion… people are getting tired of constant grinding etc.
This is such bullcrap that I am so sick of hearing.
Warriors bring fury, might, and vulnerability. They bring the best and most important boons in the game.
They also have the best base survivabiliy and the highest damage.
No one ever said warriors were designed to be the highest damagers— Anet’s pages say they were designed to be highly durable.
Warrior damage and boons are too high. They need a PVE nerf.
You obviously still fail to see the picture…
The flaw is with PvE: the fact that it favors DPS over everything else. Because it does that, Warriors are the best choice, because they bring everything you need to max out your DPS: Fury, Might and Vulnerability.
If PvE favored CC and Healing in some parallel universe, people would be crying about how OP ele’s are on the forums…

that they will cry, not just a river, but a huge ocean.” – Wethospu
Buffing all other classes to be up on the warrior’s OP status would mean that every class would be able to run all 5 man content solo. That’s exactly how bad it is. Denying it won’t change it.
Although what you’re saying is true: buffing all other classes would make it possible for them to run the soloable content solo (because fyi, no all paths can be solo’ed, CoF p1, Arah p1, CoE p3 etc), it still doesn’t validate your request for nerfing warrior and buffing the rest so they surpass warrior.
You fail to see the bigger picture. The warrior was designed to be the class that could do the most damage in melee range. They are a damage class that has terrible utilities outside of Fury and Might. It just happens to be the case Fury and Might are the most wanted boons in PvE.
The problem with warriors does not lie with the class. It lies with the lack of depth and mechanics in the PvE.

Warriors have ZERO access to protection, terrible sources of regen and healing, and none of the best invulning skills in the game. If you remove the offensive buffs a warrior can bring to the table then they would be the same as a guardian with their defensive capabilities removed. Other classes can smother you in conditions, chilling/poisoning/blinding/weakness, CC, AoE condition removal/conversion, etc. the issue is that the DESIGN of PvE doesn’t allow these to accomplish much outside of clearing trash (necro blind spam lololol at npcs anybody?). Since trash is just something thrown at you to try to eat up time by being large damage sponges and almost all bosses are also just large damage sponges (essentially immune to CC and blind as well) the possibility of a meta with much more depth is removed by ANet itself in their design of the PvE elements of the game.
meh, it is impossible to make everybody happy, some will always complain about something. the rewards from the dungeons r just fine, it is just a matter of being patient, though it is true the Sorrow’s Embrace could use some tweaks so it isnt so exhausting, and some fractals could use some work too to make them more fun and engaging rather than just a hard unfun chore.
PS:
“Fractals would have lasted a long longer as enjoyable content if it weren’t so tedious, long, and unrewarding.”
-it would have lasted longer if it wasnt long… wait what?
I think he meant it would have lasted ALOT longer…

While I agree with most of your other posts, this one is wrong (parts of it anyway). The thief was designed to be the class that could do the most damage in melee range. Warriors were designed to be able to stay in longer. But to be honest, arguing this point is futile, since the description they gave most classes isn’t very accurate at all.
. They are a damage class that has terrible utilities outside of Fury and Might. It just happens to be the case Fury and Might are the most wanted boons in PvE.
So they have no utilities that are good, except the best buffs in the game? Care to explain how that’s a bad thing? (Not disagreeing about a lot of their utilities being crap…but look at the other classes, most don’t touch a minimum of 60-75% of their utilities on a regular basis)
Look, to all of those screaming for warrior damage to be nerfed and calling Bright full of crap for saying the problem in PvE is not that warriors do too much dmg but that PvE mechanics are shot just look at this:
Its a video going over WHY PvE in groups has devolved into the current Warrior/Guardain/Memser META and why the other classes are being shunned.
In short you shouldn’t be complaing that the warriors can do more damage then you, you should be complaining why damage is all that matters.
Why are you guys going on and on about if warrior is good or not? This is out of topic. The post is about PvE and it being too easy and unrewarding.

Actually, this is a post about someone claiming they talk for the majority of PvE players when they don’t. Hence why it got derailed in less then 1 page.

What’s weird about this is that you seem to agree with me, but for some reason keep arguing this point…
Yes, Might and Fury are the best buffs for PvE, because PvE is based around pure damage. If in some weird alternate universe, mobs would get a debuff that makes them take 80% more damage while chilled, people would be crying all over the forums about how the Ele/Necro/Whatever trinity needs nerfing.
This game is balanced around PvP. Guess how usefull Might and Fury is in PvP. Guess how useful a warrior is in PvP. Warriors are terribly balanced in this game when it comes to survivability and utility, they just have a niche that they happen to fill better than anything other profession: pumping mad DPS. And because PvE is a ‘dodge or die’ situation in almost all of them, all you need is a couple of people that know when to dodge and can keep pumping DPS in between, which is why warriors SEEM OP, but they’re actually really not.
Anet needs to fix their PvE, not their classes.

If you make a thread about anything in PvE that might attract elitists (like myself), you better get prepared for a bumpy ride, because your thread is going to spend most of it time completely derailed.

I keep arguing? I posted once about what you said…
This game isn’t balanced around PvP. They specifically differentiates PvE and PvP (ignore where WvW stands for the moment), or at least they are trying. If they go the same route GW1 took, which it looks like they are (albeit slowly), certain skills will be drastically different between PvP and PvE.
Fury and Might are not why warriors aren’t that great in PvP, but that’s a topic for a PvP thread (and not this derailed PvE thread). The only reason for my post came out of confusion about your claim that (paraphrasing) warriors have crap utility, but bring the best buffs. It’s contradictory.
I’m not a part of the Nerf Warriors into the ground fan club. I think that they are actually in a very nice place. They just have 1 ability that needs to be reworked or at least looked into in PvE (Hundred Blades).

I’m mistaking you for someone else… My bad.

I think Anet would like to disagree with you. Anet balances most stuff with PvP in mind. If they notice that their PvP change will have too much of a game breaking effect in PvE, they’ll split the skills, otherwise, they won’t. Yes, some skills are different, but at the end of the day, this game is balanced around PvP.

Their utility is bad. It’s just amazing in PvE, because PvE is broken.
It’s like being 5’7" and weighing 200 pounds and going to a kickboxing tournament, only to find out you’ll be fighting a bunch of 8 year olds. You would be absolutely terrible in a real match, but because of the circumstances, you’re just hauling kitten ..

100b really isn’t that great of a skill, unless you know how to work with it. It roots you in place, meaning that unless a foe is stationary, or against a wall, there’s a pretty good chance you’re going to miss half of it. I mean, it’s really destructive in the right hands, but when given to someone who doesn’t know how to use it right, it’ll be pretty bad.
If there is anything that needs fixing on a warrior, it’s the Axe autoattack..

Ya anybody pointing at 100b and saying ‘ermergerd too strong!’ really needs to actually think about the dps it puts out and the dps other skills put out, it does lots of damage but it’s a REALLY long skill.
I think it’s too late op.
A lot of my guildies and friends jumped ship to other MMO’s because the PvE was just lackluster before all the guild missions, ect. Perhaps if there was more development dedicated towards the crowd that we represent rather than the dress-up type that look for only cosmetic rewards dancing around the mystic forge.
I’d advocate for gear progression at this point to make it seem like players are making their character stronger. Logging on to play dress-up is just not that interesting. I’ll check up on this game maybe next year but hopefully by then something is added to address the longevity for players that actually want to earn their gear rather then be spoon-fed gear.
I don’t mind lack of gear grind, in fact I downright love it. Done far too much of that in the past and had my fill for life I would think. I don’t mind that once you complete fractal gear, you can pretty much stop with fractals. I think we do have tons and tons of content in the world that hardly anyone even knows about, or even bothers to go do to stay busy. What I do have problems with though, is even the most interesting and out of the way content gets trivial after the first few times of doing it, especially when rewards in this game are hard to come by in any meaningful form. There’s only so many times I can pass off another festival event as “new content” or waiting an entire month to get to the end of a living story. Don’t get me wrong, I love living story, I understand too why they have to drag it out over a month-to give everyone a chance to get it done, and I love the festivals. But this is not “new” PvE content. Living story gets close, but most of us can complete all of the chapters of it in a few days. PvP keeps getting more tweaks, new maps, custom arenas, all the bells and whistles… PvE gets some festivals and RNG skins. See the disconnect here? We just need something more substantial to whet our appetites. This is an amazing game and by far a much higher quality than the other dribble out there, but there needs to be more content for the top end PvE. That’s just my 2 cents.
