Quick idea. Not going into too deep of details, but basically, I would love to see the return of the GW1 Paragon!
Paragon Idea;
Weapons;
Spear “Javelin” (main hand)
Mace (main hand)
Short Bow (two handed)
Greatsword (two handed)
Shield (off-hand)
Warhorn (off-hand)
Rough Ideas for Mechanics;
*Words of Leadership – After X amount of allies have been affected by a shout, you can unleash a “Charge Shout” (explained later in this post). Fills up sort of like a Warriors Adrenaline bar, except based of applying shouts to allies.
*Isn’t focused on Defense like Retaliation, Regen, and Protection, but Offense and Leadership such as Fury, Might, and Swiftness
Skill Types;
Shouts (Words of Leadership), Chants, Stances
*Shouts – Instant skills, can be used while knocked down, but not stunned or dazed.
*Chants – Skills with 1 second cast times, can not be used while knocked down, stunned, or dazed.
[[Shouts that affect Allies would normally be capped at 5, as a Paragon’s Shouts would be more powerful than say a Warriors.]]
Profession Uniquness;
Vocal Toggle F1
-“Humans” have two sets of vocal chords. A High and a Low. This being said, a Paragon can swap between the two to change how a shout/chant functions (Still in development of idea).
Spear Stance toggle F2
-Spears at default are set to be thrown, however this toggle swaps the Spear’s skills (1-3) from ranged to melee.
Words of Leadership F3
-Using F3 activates a Charged Shout. What this would do is give you an active buff, sort of like Aegis, and would go away on your next shout. That shout would either A)have no Cool Down – or B)Ignore Ally Cap.
~~Support this idea for the Man Skirts, and the missing third Heavy Armor Profession!! ~~
Common Argument, This sounds a bit like a Guardian as it is a Heavy Armor Profession and its built towards support. However this class as a whole is made to be set in the middle of combat, not directly in the heat of battle (however it could if desired). What makes it different than a Guardian is the lack of the Holy look, lack of the direct heals. Rather than buffing the allies with Retaliation, Regen, Condition Removals, and Protection, it would focus more on Applying Cripples, Bleeds, Fury, Swiftness, make you truely feel like a Paragon should, someone guiding the group.

“Aim for the Knees!” – Nearby Allies inflict Crippling with their next attack.
“Retreat!” – Nearby Allies Gain Swiftness and Remove Imobilization, Cripple, and Chill
Chant Skills;
“Show Your Might” – Gain 3Might and Fury for 5 seconds
“Prepare To Dodge” – Nearby Allies Recover 25% of their Endurance Bar
Trait Lines;
Valor; Power, Spear Range
5: 10% to cause a lightning strike when attacking

Merit; Vitality, Boon Duration

15: Passive Health Regen based on ‘Words of Leadership’ bar

5: When 5 people are affected by a shout restore some endurance
