New and more appropriate name for progarm.

WHY
because that is what it is.
guilds which dont work and are like banks in the real world.
many people put their resources in “REP”. but a small number spend it and have access to big tab and other bits. The “officers” are expected to run / organise events stuff for members but they dont. they run with their freinds who along with them benifit. there is no down side for them. so grab members take their and sit back.

Advice as a player look for a guild that spends on the buffs you like and has some part of their bank open to you with some stuff that may help you. because like the banks they take your money and dont lend but are all over you if you dont put in rep. i have been contacted twice by the guilds i have been in both times about why im not representing. ie collecting for them the rep they want like a good farm animal.

second the DEV’s they farm you for their Vision. its not yours and its not fun.
they want a living story. see latest forum stuff. YOU will do events. Indeed its the only way. all PvE has been nerfed so that they force you to do EVENTS.

30 hours top end magic find gear + food. one yellow. thats it one. OH do a dragon spend 15 mins spamming keys and Lo yellows. I have concidered making a legendary but i will not live long enough, I jest not , this program is so rigged that the resources i could get playing cant be got in a life time. 30 hours = 1 ecto and a gold may be, think of the input for a single GIFT recipe. and LOL. i watched youtube and in sept 2012 the drop rates were SO SO different. 2 yellows and 4 or 5 400 level mats plus an unid and a gold in 30 mins and just to add insult the Trading prices were much lower.

ITS not the same game Folks that was released. and YOU will play like they say or else.

It so reminds me of EVE, they had world events, guilds but if you wernt in a large pirate guild you could not play and it died.

Wow wintersgrasp worked because it was easy to know it was on. anyone could just join in. it was a group and you each did your own thing, v little structure. there was no downside to playing or not. WvW is just not like that, and your personally hunted it has a mean and nasty side that wintersgrasp did not. i found wintersgrasp fun.

Dungeons. You know i have kept the mail about each dongeon in mail box but they laugh and dispise me. you just cant get groups . two level 80’s and 2 level 70’s and so far even with regular trys i have done one Story. just one. WOULD just love to do daily fractal, but that is even a poorer joke. spam lions arch ot LFG all you like just occasionaly you will find a group too go.

so to sumerize
Guilds farm you for REP and give next to nothing in return.
they serve the founding members and close freinds only.

Devs want you to play their game do what they want and forget FUN.
they farm you as an number Amy.4536 John.2547 you ar a unit in their ART.
their little economic units, falling into place or big brother WILL PUNISH YOU. you are to be farmed not farm you are to serve not be served
you will give FUN for the few but you will do as your told or else.

DO any of you know what Serve means.
or FUN

Its a Game a Game. bought to have fun and forget BANKS and greedy people and TYRANNY and DESPOTs.
but you seem to be becoming all the above.
the game has no end game a grind too long for a human life to complete
boreing and mean.

so much is good in this game but there is no color in the game play
devs are just a bunch of manipulative mega egos
and none of you seem to know what FUN is or what a GAME is

it feels like we are all being organised into a great big parade and like the red square tableau from the 80’s. to be sent to slaugter for the interests of a few special peolpe who know best. while the country and the people starve and suffer. its all eye candy and it makes you fat and sick , sweet at first but it has no nurishment.

so give us a meal and not a tiny pretty sweet.
stop telling players and manipulating them. make it FUN and ACCESSABLE
and they will do it
try that as a stratergy, i promise it will work

put a game back in GUILD WARS
remove the Farming people and put farming back in
Get rid of DR and make dungeons accessable.
Make it a living world not one that take the life out of the players.

Just leave such guild...

Looks like a complaint about guilds, more than about the game. Don’t let the crisis follow you in game. Don’t let socialist puppykitten about banks get into your head. Play the game and don’t focus on the ferrari your boss drives.

The farming of mats etc is what made perfect sense above everything else.
Drop rates on mats are pathetic, infact drop rates on everything are pathetic tbh.

Yea I agree, Magic Find is such a stupid mechanic that should have stay and died with Blizzard. It be simpler without it.

They should at least add total Magic find/Gold find to the character stats…

Magic Find died for me because it does absolutely nothing. No changes noticed so far, so I still get the same amount of rare items.

And I hate food. Totally annoying with all the extra clicks xD

The Devs would say its GUILD WARS.
but it isnt working, they know it.

Players were playing the game their own way.
Having Fun. Deveolping Toons, kit and exploring

Devs dont like it, so they nerf and force and lock out.

aka Magic Find, so its not listed. delibratly hidden

Guilds dont work
so they are trying to force players to behave.
to do what the guilds fail at.
and to make sure you do as they say

Dungeons arnt working either so the recent changes
you can get into any fractal, because no one was.
Story mode is a farce. with so few having done it
and taking months to complete.
not while you leveled your Toon.
as they obviously expected. ( aka the mail shot)

BUT as i said Guilds dont work they serve a tiny number
they dont do dungeon runs or any other event.

So group Events are Failing
Not Guild Wars then

But instead of sorting the guilds out they have
chosen to bully and lie and misrepresent.

You will do events
you will only get nice kit IF you do events

OH as this is a suggestion here are some first and rough thoughts

1) if it is or was Fun leave it alone it aint broke dont fix it
2) remove coersion from your game model. (stick and carrot)
3) Put the Event that is “war” back in the Guild
4) stop trying to make people play like you think they should and
see what is enjoyed in your game and build on the good.
5) sort out access to among other things dungeons.
6) provide a source of information about ongoing or iminant group events,
then toons can travel and join in if they want to. Heralds would be a nice model.
7) the events as they stand are samey and boring , make them attractive in themselves
no bribes please. If taking down a huge Dragon isnt cool enough the massive chest
needed to get me to do it just says YOU FAILED.
8) set up some form of wintersgrasp. sorry it so plegerisum and who wants a WoW clone
but for me and many it worked was fun and i wanted to do it reward or no it made
me smile when i saw it start and i could join in the fun. “Event” to you dev’s.
9) No more currencies, Laurels the latest to make players do your boring stuff.
If it was Fun or part of the world or pathos I would have done it anyway because
i would have wanted too. I like to have FUN and play a Game. Most players do.
How many currencies have you got now anyway………

FUN is thing players do spontaniously in a game because they want to and repeat as it
brought a smile , a memory, a reward, progress awe or pleasure. It was enjoyed and made you want to do it again and may be share the experiance with your freinds. Guess what …
You will never believe it …. come let me show you…. this is sooo cool….
hey when can we do this again I loved it….. must tell my freind to get this game its great … they dont know what they are missing…. we did …… last time i am really looking forward to see what…..

The War back in the Guild
why not only give Guild XP for guild organised events. if its not guild organised no XP
no XP for random play solo or group by members.
Just Dungeons Fractals WvW major world group events what ever Guilds are supposed to do.
This would mean that if a guild wanted to grow and gain guild advantages then they
would have to, that is have to do events. Guild would go to war or die.
they could no longer reliy on huge role calls of none involved players and farming them for rep but doing nothing. No WAR in sight as they get rep for nothing.
Total none events as they are mostly now.
if the few just selfserved then the guild would grow but very slowly however large the numbers as they would have taken part in no event they would get NO rep.
If on the other hand they oranised WvW run guild fractals then they would be rewarded with lots of rep.
Now you Have GUILDS making things happen wanting things to happen.
and if you sort out the other stuff then making Guilds fun and worth it.
and You have your GUILD WARS.

PS i really hope you sort yourselves out as this has the possibilty of beening a great game.

his words exactly. his expresion and emphasis not mine. he obviously understands the mechanic.
this guild does not run any events for members.
a small core do there own thing and spend the rep.

oh and the events are the small ones that you do as you trugg along.
NO living world here.

they will access the new guild rushes and other stuff but most members whose butts he is refering will not and are locked out of the content. not that they dont want to do it.

I have to agree with some of this. Take Magic Find for example. If I just equip my magic find gear, full armour and trinket set, the changes in loot drops is unnoticeable. To see any change whatsoever in loot I have to use food and a guild buff plus my magic find gear. If I do all of that I find at times, 1 rare per hour of farming. Soon after that DR kicks in. So as a Guardian Twilight would be what I would go after but to get all those items required for it I would be farming for the rest of my life and being retired now I do not have that much time left.

So I could buy most of the stuff from the TP. But wait, that takes gold, lots of gold, and I totally detest playing the trading post but ANET has made it the most viable form of earning gold. I do like farming as I can throw a game on the tele and farm away but there is that thing called DR. I could suppose BUY gems and then convert to gold but did I mention I am retired? On a fixed pension?

Then finally they have what they call precursors. For Twilight I need Dusk to drop, somewhere, somehow. Did I mention I just do not have that much time in my life waiting for a drop that is so low that a snakes belly would be way above it?

So unless I want to spend hours manipulating the trading post, spend lots of real life money buying gems to convert to gold, or grind my way through diminishing returns, and pray to every God that ever existed for a precursor drop, I will just have to give up on Twilight. ANET hower expects the above to be FUN!
