I am literally stealing this idea from a now-closed MMO called City of Heroes.

Basically, in that game, players had the ability to rate other players from zero to five stars. If you rate them as zero, then no stars show up over their character. If you rate them between one to five stars, then the according number of stars would show up. Players would then use this to make up their own personal system of how to rate players, such as (for example)

1 star – don’t wanna play with them ever again
2 stars – kinda bad player, watch out next time just in case
3 stars – good player, wouldn’t mind playing with them next time
4 stars – in same supergroup/clan/guild
5 stars – on friends list

This is just one example, some people would reverse the order or use the rating system for something else entirely. Each player’s personal rating system was unable to be seen by any other player, since it would save the data in a text file on the player’s computer. There was even a small section where you could jot notes down after right clicking the player so you could note down why you rated them as such, for example, and it would also list the alternate characters that player has played that you have personally encountered.

I would like something like this to be done for GW2 so I could actually remember who I’ve played with. There would be nothing discriminatory with it as each player’s rating system is unique and only visible by that player.

And as always, have the ability to disable the viewing of stars in options if you wish.

I personally would like to see an individual rating system implemented, but a globally visible one upon some sort of inspection system, just so others may know who to group or not to group with. This’d be especially useful for dungeon runs so we can dish out the bad. But they won’t agree with this since they want casuals to have an equal footing to hardcore players.
If you want to remember who you’ve played with at the moment and wish to invite them later for more, there’s an Add Friend option.
