So there’s the point where all storylines converge: Claw Island. The scene where your mentor sacrifices her/himself was quite emotional (thanks to the music at the boat scene). However I was at some point expecting to fight the undead version of our mentor. This thought came up when I went back to retake Claw Island. I went “I wonder if I have to fight a boss version of my mentor as an undead.” But alas I never did. I think fighting your mentor (doesn’t necessarily have to be at Claw Island, but eventually) could add another emotional layer to them. First you have to watch them die, then you have to kill them, then you get taunted by their death (in a later story mission). It could really stir up this sense of rage.

I was expecting the same thing to happen. But maybe that’s exactly why it didn’t happen, because people were expecting that. Or maybe because they already did it in GW1 with Prince Rurik.
