I was selling to a karma vendor when I curiously checked out one of the items she had for sale and I read the special little quote as part of the karma weapon:

“We reinforce these with our own special techniques.”
—Warden Gemai

It would be a fantastic idea to allow players who are crafters (such as a Weaponsmith or Huntsman) to write their own little blurb, quote, or whatever personal touch message they want on an inscription that they make, so when they fuse it with a weapon it gets that little quote when someone else reads it. Just a little extra feature so people know that I made that weapon; the handiwork is mine.

The quote should be typed in when crafting an inscription or perhaps a dialogue box could pop up at the end of crafting a finished product (such as a sword, hammer, or bow).

I’ve included a picture as an example. While this is a small idea, I think it’d make crafting more enjoyable and personal for the crafter.

Its a neat idea, but at the same time it would exponentially increase the amount of data that crafted items need to convey. They’d have to save each special line of text, assign it to the item, and when someone bought the item somehow transfer that data over to them so they could see it, while also keeping each one individually despite the fact that all items are listed under the same place on the TP as well).

Its all just text, so the amount of actual data it would take up may or may not be all that major in practice (someone with more experience with databases would have to comment on that) but considering they can’t even save pet names because they “take up too much database space” I doubt they’d want to assign a unique tag to every single weapon that’s crafted.
