I am very sad about it. All the new armors you can see in the PvP locker are looking quite well. The heavy one is really nice and a very different style for warris and guardians, it’s a bit winter-norn like. The Medium is also nice, a bit steampunk, and fits quite well.
The PHOENIX armor for the females is very awesome. Its the one Kasmeer Meade wears (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Kasmeer_Meade). But males are getting “nothing”. The male phoenix armor looks boring and doesnt have anything to do with a phoenix, even the starter armor looks better. It is the same model like Armageddon and Outrider just with another texture. And all of these armors have a totally different skin for females and all those female skins are awesome. On the other hand all the male versions are looking silly. (One Armageddon-type armor would be enough)

It feels and seems like Anet don’t like male characters or aren’t able to design good looking, extraordinary and varying skins. I had some hope and was very excited but got disappointed and I think I am not the only one.

Yeah I’m disappointed by the male phoenix armor. Nothing about it implies that it would be related to a “phoenix” it’s boring and is just another ugly coat/robe thing that is rampant in male light armor. Oh actually it has those phallic shaped objects on the shoulders, I guess that’s worth the 800 gems. You know when Arenanet had that interview way before the game was released they said having armor variety was a big deal for GW2 and that they wanted both gender characters to have a variety of armors. Instead, male medium armor wearers get an infinite stream of trench coats and male casters get burkahs and clown clothes. I feel like I should just delete all of my characters and make them all human females.

Have you stopped to consider that there are people who have already bought this armor because they enjoy how it looks? I did. I’d be extremely kitten ed off if the product I purchased was changed for the worse because of a few forum posts.

Why don’t you just request a new armor set rather than trying to change an existing one.

The OP’s post says nothing about changing the armor now, it just says that it is boring and a crime against male characters, which it is.

I’m extremely disappointed at it, and I don’t even have any male characters. It’s THAT bad.

the phoenix armor is boring… the only females it looks good on are the norn and human, and sylvari, where as the asura and charr females … well basically Charr and Asura are all one gender according to the armor.

No, it isn’t. The chest and shoulders are top-notch – definitely viable when mixed with other parts. The leggings, glove, and mask are the only parts that are seriously lacking (though I suppose that is half the set).
