Playable Monsters/Bosses
I’m 100% sure people would abuse such a thing to farm boss drops.
Besides, an AI would know how to play a “boss” better than a player who is handed a few skills he’s not familiar with.
I should also point out that the essence of a well-played fight is, indeed, one that involves strategy, and not brute-forcing everything. Besides, if you hate scripted boss-fights, then what are you doing playing video games?
Chances of this idea ever being implemented is pretty much 0%; the closest you’re going to get of this is costume brawls.
Why not add this as a form of PvP? Monsters vs. Heroes, haha. Or let two teams of boss monsters / other mobs duke it out arena-style. So that if you know what the bosses do, you’d be good at it, or you could just have fun and improvise. I donno. :P
Yeah, this sounds like a special form of PvP. I’m not sure how well it’d work in practice though – balancing tends to go such that eventually the deck will be stacked heavily in either side’s favor, once people work things out.
