I want an alternate source of ghosts (similar to Foefire, but nicer) which would legitimize the playability of certain races that aren’t viable at present.

Dwarves

Almost all the dwarves are gone

Not anymore. -sillygrin- They’ve come back to haunt youuu!

Skritt

Unintelligent when isolated?

Apply new logic – A Skritt’s intelligence ceases to fluctuate upon death, and if they become ghosts, those apparitions retain the intelligence.

Same as Dwarves only more so. Why…?

For obvious size issues, maybe it would revealed that they actually have the ability to grow/shrink and as ghosts they normally stay the size of Norns (to fit in with the other races’ societies), but when they die their bodies return to their original size.

-Ghosts could have fuzzy pasts memories that make good groundwork for Personal Story
-Ghosts are blue/transparent – Unique compared to other playable character.

Didn’t mention Quaggan up there because they don’t seem like the type to turn into ghosts. They’re so nice… (usually).

Aren’t ghosts tied to the place where they died? (Not to mention the other things like no interest in current events and hardly any acceptance in the world of the living.)

Dwarves aren’t dead, they have been turned to stone and have ventured underground to hold the line against Primordus, the first elder dragon. Making them playable as ghosts makes no sense. Also I’m very glad that they were never a playable race, I’m sick of dwarves and elves, every game doesn’t need to have them.

Indeed doomguard, it’s kinda not my type of class either.. and plus lore is not connected to them..

Playing as a ghost would bring all kinds of weird issues in. How can you die?
