Player Housing.
it would be awesome to have some form of WvW + player housing.
I have no idea how this would work… I just miss the UO days of building a guildhall next to an enemy guilds and players having wars using the houses as a base.
I’ve suggested this a few times now and like your post had very little response. I also suggested that the player housing be functional so it has some type of grounding in the world.
Like you mentioned the player housing in Lotro was great, you could store things there, add trophies from bosses and make it look as you wanted.
Now then, what Wildstar are doing with player housing is beyond awesome and AN should take a look. You can use your house in so many ways, grow crops, attach rockets to make it fly, add taxi ports etc. Apparently you can even find items in the world that open instance on the grounds of your house.
This is what I would like to see in Guild Wars 2 and I’m sure I’m not alone.
Genophix, i’ll have to check out Wildstar, but yeah, the Lotro player housing was good as there were multiple neighborhoods, and you chose a house inside one of these neighborhoods, and you had neighbors and guild halls just around town. So it’s a section of the map but has been instanced into another zone where people who live in that neighborhood can walk around and decorate and invite friends around and give them housing permissions. So you could pay someone to decorate for you, etc.
Player housing is definitely something I’m interested in seeing. I think it would make home instances (which is really the only place I can imagine player housing outside of a player guild hall being located) much more relevant. As it is, I rarely visit my home instance, because there’s really nothing there that I can’t find elsewhere in the game.
