Seems to be a while since player housing was mentioned and I understand that both housing and Guildhalls were both intended to be introduced at some stage? So this thread is intended as a “bump” to the Devs to remind them that some of us are patiently waiting to see this implemented as soon as possible!

In a previous topic when this came up last year several people mentioned the Everquest II housing precedent whereby a few houses in your starting City were initially available to purchase for gold or status (gained by completing certain quests either in adventuring or crafting) or a combination of the two. EQ picked up the ball and ran with it when it quickly became apparent that Sony could make money from offering Prestige Housing for RL cash, enabling you to buy spectacular homes (and furniture) from their Marketplace (the equivalent of the Gem Store). This is so popular with the player population that they regularly bring out new mansions/galleons/islands (generally, though not slavishly, based on somewhere in the game world of Norrath that you could conceive of living).

Each home is an instance which you generally enter from your home City and you can receive visitors as in RL and fill the home with player made items ranging from common furniture to windows and soft furnishings. For example, you can build a house literally from scratch with building blocks, lay out a garden and fill it with plants. The world really is your oyster.

I know this won’t appeal to all the player base (and granted I think EQ does have a higher female player base than GW from my experience) but for those of us who aren’t testosterone charged and don’t want to rinse and repeat dungeons or grind alts to level cap over and over, I’m hoping to see a couple of new professions introduced of Carpenter or Sculptor or something of that nature, enabling GW players to make their own range of items to furnish their homes and gardens, thus adding another aspect to the game.

Also, Guildhalls, come on, where are these hubs of flirting, socialising, crafting and fun?
