Player should to be in one guild at a time
Absolute rubbish. A player belonging to multiple guilds is not being selfish, they are making use of the tools that Anet has provided for them. Forcing players to commit to a single guild will not unite them, in fact it will do the exact opposite.
I know of several players who are in multiple guilds – one has a guild made up of family members, but he is also a member of a PvP-focused guild. Is he selfish for wanting to play with his family when he’s not in the mood for PvP?
I see from your own sig that you are a member of no less than two guilds (Deja Vu [RU] / Cemetery of Fatal Errors [CoFE] on Desolation). Therefore, you are pretty much as selfish as the people you are railing against.
Not every guild will 100% cater to a players wants.
The multi guild system is great for those who want to join guilds who focus on one aspect of the game at a time so when they want to WvW they hop onto their WvW guild when they want to run FoTM they go there some have 24/7 buffs for the PvE people ect.
I guess I dont understand why people want to force others to join only one guild. Is it really that big of a deal if someone wants to rep another guild while they play a different part of the game or with their friends/family in a personal guild? If anything we need more smaller specialized guilds. Perhaps bring back the alliances from the first game so we can have the specialized guilds.
You realize many people have storage guilds that they use just for the guild storage, right?

You can only represent one guild at a time anyway. Sorry, but more is better. There’s a limit already in place. (5 guilds at a time, I think?) Reducing it to one would just annoy many people, I think.
I represent one guild for PvE and a different one for WvW. The WvW one could not fill my needs for PvE and the PvE has little interest in WvW. Unfortunately this is the way of things.
Then I have 2 accounts, one in Europe one in the US. They are both split in guild representation.
All guilds I am a member of know of my duality and accept it. If you think differently then perhaps you should reconsider your own attitude. I have been in a guild that was suspicious about representing other guilds. I left, they lost a capable member.
This, of course, all the fun that you have written, but the problem is that that a lot of guilds in which you are a member, and even from time to time make their presentation, probably more than half made up of members with a status of “Unknown”. Am I wrong? What is the meaning of creation of such a number of guilds consisting of 3, 5 or 10 people? Oh yeah, it’s cool – this is my pocket guild, and this – the members of my family, where I help my grandpa and grandma to kill Ambient mobs, and that guild – where we are all make stupid laugh, and this one is to show my golden pistol for everyone.
Those who engage in recruiting, who deal with and trains newcomers – is well aware of the importance of the player remained in the guild, helping in accumulation of influence points, participated in the sweat and blood earned guild missions, and as part of a large group guildmates participated in the WWW. And you are just consumers and not more than that.

Right from the start I was in two guilds by turns, and the signature – this is my personal story. From the start we fully level up Deja Vu [RU], and now we do the same thing with Cemetery of Fatal Errors [CoFE]. Now I am and represent only the last one, and no more. We have over 150 active players, we are involved in all aspects of the game and did not feel flawed. The number of our ghouls with “Unknown” status is no more than 10% of the total.
