Please Combine Low-Population Servers!
I doubt anet will do that, they’ll miss out on server transfer profits.

I think there are literally only 3 guilds on my server that have above 400 people, and I was in one of them.
Why do you need any guilds with 400 people in them…
This wont happen but it is a good idea. How will low population servers ever be able to compete in wvw.
Why do you need any guilds with 400 people in them…
To fight Tequatl and hope that at least 80 people will show up that are actually trying.

You can guest for tequatl and if you have 1200 people in just 3 pve guilds then I’m sure you can get 80 pve’ers

Guesting was a nice feature that I originally thought would improve teamwork and friendships between people on different servers. The point was, it was an option. You had the option to switch if you wanted to play with your friends or do an event with a guild from that server.
Now what you’re saying is that guesting is now mandatory for me to beat Teq. What will new players on my server think if they are the only ones to show up to Teq? That’s pretty sad that an entire server would give up on doing a boss simply because they do not have enough people to do it.
Edit: Plus, you’d be hard-pressed to find more than 5 people willing to do Teq on my server. You always need guilds with 400+ people in them, whether you realize it or not. They are the ones in the background working to keep the castles currently under our control. Make those guilds disappear and you will find that they did more work than you could ever imagine.

There are low population servers? I rarely see them as low as medium, and high seems to be the average.

This is interesting cause it suggests that people who aren’t in massive guilds dont try . Somehow i don’t think that’s the case .

No, the blob of pve’ers that spam 1 in a wvw queue zerg don’t hold castles, they create a queue and block off that map from anybody who can actually fight or organize themselves allowing the other server to easily cap everything.

I didn’t say nobody tries but if you have ever ended up in an overflow where a guild didn’t show up then I am sure you have seen the multitudes of AFKers. I’ve tried to organize in overflows and even once on my home server when I actually got in. There was almost no response and from the few that did respond several said they were just there for an achievement. I’ve seen it enough times to know that many people don’t try or don’t care. Not everyone but a fair amount.
Just curious, which guild are you in? I play in GoM.

I’m in vox, used to be in the Guild of Madness until the original leader quit. I’m assuming that they rebuilt the members from scratch though and are now probably close to being a 400 member guild, if not 500.
Make one huge server where all players can be (overflows created when needed) and loose the home world crap and exchange it with a “Faction”.
People should choose a faction when creating the first character and changing the faction will cost gems.
Very simple.
The whole server idea is for the WvW. As WvW is a separate game mode from the whole GW2, you can make it non-affecting the other parts. I really don’t mind loosing the bonus exp from the home server becasue it can be transformed into Faction bonus.

That is because the capacity for each server is different. You might see medium+ across the board but the number of accounts on each server is vastly different.

For those of you that don’t know, the population shown is based on the number CURRENTLY logged in. This is also what determines whether or not a server is capped to block transfers.

Personally, I think the server status’s are all lies. Gate of Madness says full all the time, yet I rarely see enough people to make a party with in one day. Don’t tell me that they’re all at the new LS, because I play those too and there’s only a handful of people I see that go to those. Take Teq for example. Gate of Madness never even had an overflow for Teq. Even in the main server there were only about 20 to 30 people there. I refuse to believe my server is full when I can walk around the world and see only 2 people.
