Games like Planet Side 2 have what’s called a test server, where players can go in and test the content that’s up and coming. This is a pretty good way for SOE to make sure they can work out all the kinks and flaws of new content so it doesn’t wind up in the content upon release. Not only that, but they can see how players will react to the new content, and make changes based upon real players’ critiques. It’s really frustrating dealing with all the flaws in the new content of GW, and what’s worse is when they stop and patch every 5 minutes afterwards to correct all the mistakes. I have a great suggestion to fix your problems Anet and NCSOFT, why don’t you make a test server that’s free to transfer to, and host all the new content like a month before official release. No prizes, no rewards, no loot, just the ability to see what’s up and coming so we can give feedback and you can hammer out all the kinks.

Test servers r nice but they also have there downsides.

Example: condi warriors after this new patch are acualy playable whitch means that the price of condi gear will rise.
Now if a test server was here alot of ppl woulda have went bac on the normal server baught up all the condi gear and charge a fortune to the unsespecting playerbase. Drasticly raising the price and naking those players much more wealthyer. Now alot of people say there us nothing wrong with that but not all players like to play test servers. They tend to have.more.bugs. So this now give those other players a huge advantage. On also on that remark some one with enough gold ( trust me ppl have enough) can practly buy up all of one item they know is ganna be saught after and because they have alot more gold then others can do so sit on the items till they drasticly rise then sell then off at a alarming rate crushing the market in that item.

Now you ganna say thatll never happen. Wrong play eve online and see for yourself. I personaly made alot of money in that game by doing this verry thing. ( me and a couple freinds)

Test servers are nice but they affect alot of thing good and bad.

This is what alpha testing is. Arena net most likely tests their new content thoroughly, but despite this there will always be kinks that you can’t predict and bugs which may not be found.
All this does is make it necessary to play content twice just to be one step ahead of the competition.
I’m all for previews of certain concepts just to see if they work or if they are enjoyable, but having a whole server to preview every new bit of content seems silly.
