Most of the new content features hectic events (like all the PvP mini-events: dragon ball, sanctum sprint, etc.). Even the PvE stuff that is added is usually tough and very engaging, such as the new Queen’s stuff (self explanatory xD).

When I would play other games like WoW, when I wanted to relax and take a break from arenas or raiding I would go out and gather, doing mining or herbalism or something. It would be relaxing for the most part. However, in Guild Wars, you can’t even do that too much (unless you are in Queensdale or something), because everything is constantly attacking you if you get close.

I don’t mind too much personally, but for a lot of players it can be stressful, especially those that are new or aren’t looking for a fight.

This suggestion is written in place of my girlfriend, who brought this up to me and I figured why not bring it up to all of you because I couldn’t think of anything that was actually stress-free to do

What I mostly hate is that when you are put into combat your speed is cut.

Also, most of the mobs aren’t even challenging but plain ANNOYING. Root, pull, cripple… You have no idea how much infuriating I find Kraits when I’m trying to reach an event area.

Also, some underwater mobs in Orr have like infinite aggro range and they chase you to africa, keeping you in combat for half map. I’d look into those

Yes! I dislike mechanics that remove player agency. It seems like there ought to be a way to make a mob challenging without it doing something super irritating like a knock down.

When I want a break I’ve found standing upstairs in the pavilion watching people fight and waiting for the next champion group event below is pretty chill. There’s also usually a good party going on in Lion’s Arch, if you fancy it. Box o’ fun, etc.

that’s actually the problem in this game, there is nothing else but fighting and crafting.
mini games are practically ether way to easy or horribly designed and if you’re looking for some good RP places then you’re out of luck, even the jumping puzzles have enemies. (i find that simply not needed, a puzzle is suppose to be something to do for relaxation, not to be stressed with all the mobs that can kick you of at any moment)

i personally think they should look in to the small things, fishing is mentioned and some nice puzzles to solve can also be a really good activity to get off this slack from battle.
i have personally designed something called treasure caves to be used in MMO’s, i just don’t know if it’s a good idea to put this in GW2.
it’s a while ago since i written this so spelling/grammar check off please. >_<

Treasure caves

Treasure caves are caves with tests and traps to overcome, they are divided in rooms and each cave is random in it’s room choice so every treasure cave is different each time you enter one.
some parts are classic while another is quite new and challenging, with every cave you have an exiting yet fun experience.

Entrance puzzles
At every cave, there is a puzzle to overcome, it can be all kinds of things.
Maybe you need to have 5 runes to open the entrance or do a layout puzzle, every puzzle is made to challenge every player to break their minds open to possibilities.

Trap tunnels
The trap tunnels are the classic trap places with pitfalls and spike traps, you can ether avoid the traps by using your agility or speed, or disable them with the trap detection specialty.

Hall of knowledge
The hall of knowledge is the place to test what you know trough your travels or to solve a riddle, it can be a test of lore or something that is said to solve.
Let’s say there are three ghosts, all three ghosts have a riddle but only one knows the actual answer, an example is needed.

-ghost one: it is all the colors of the world, but has more sides then one, what is it?
-ghost two: a stone cannot have this, but a strong warrior doesn’t want it, what is it?
-ghost three: the world is full of it, and it’s both a strong and a weak thing to have, what is it?

All three is talking about emotion, but answering to the wrong ghost makes the ghost hostile and you have to attack it.
Answering to the right ghosts grants you access to the next chamber or tunnel, or maybe this test was the last one.

i hope this helps, it’s just one example on what we might want to see.

I recently was scouting Lornar’s Pass for a good place to shoot a video. I really liked the valley underneath the Priory base. But those annoying wolves just kept appearing an instantly attacking me. So I would kill the wolves, only to have more wolves respawn seconds later (plus they also summon extra wolves when howling). It would be nice if things remained dead a bit longer. I can’t walk anywhere without being assaulted by random critters.

I would actually really like little extra features like this, that felt more like a dungeon from the Legend of Zelda series(without the enemies maybe) with different little puzzles to solve.
At current there’s not a lot of content that doesn’t end up grating on my nerves. If I hadn’t paid for this game I probably would have stopped playing it a while ago because there’s just such a lack of content, and what they do have can be really frustrating because of some of the mechanics that they’ve chosen to make more irritating than they needed to be(knock downs are so infuriating to me), and there’s no shortage of mobs anywhere that’s for sure.
