I’ve been playing with 5 ogre runes and 1 rune of divinity on my guardian, they’re good and all but after hundreds of hours I really want to experiment new runes like Dwayna’s or Earth’s so I have 3 solutions right now :

Either
1) I salvage my armors to get the runes back… (never going to happen , I have some T2/T3 parts)
or 2) I overwrite the runes with new ones wich I might not like after all.
or 3) I buy a complete new set of armor and put the new runes on it.That would take me another 400 hours just to try some runes?(need power/tough/vit)

So yeah , title, please add some 100% chance to get the runes back without destroying the armor , thanks!

Ps : I’ve tried all the runes in the pvp arena already, but it’s hard to tell wether it’s worth it or not without long testing.

I use to have a bank full or runes I have gotten off of armor. You do know there are different grades of salvage kits, don’t you? The gemshop has a salvage kit that will salvage the runes off the armor 100%. And the one you buy with gold, the highest upgraded one will also give you the runes back, but it isn’t 100%.

he wants to be able to take the runes off of the armor without DESTROYING the armor, using a black lion salvage kit, while it has a 100% to remove the rune safely, it also will STILL destroy the armor piece, he wants a salvage kit where he can take out the runes without destroying the piece of armor.

Right now i’m grinding the ascalonian catacombs… it will take weeks to get an armor that makes me look like an NPC although I already have a mix of tier 2+tier 3 armor, whisper armor and karma armor… makes me angry!

I disagree.

This increases the longevity of playtime and gives another reason for players to work for. They are the horizontal grind that replaces the vertical grind.

Hey this might not be right(I have not tried it, but I have looked).
With the disclaimer outta the way.
Go to the “Heart of the Mists” and turn right and go to the{PvP Items}Armorsmith
look through the runes find what you want try for free, then talk to the {PvP Items}Weaponsmith try the Steady weapons(purple) with sigils that he also has, for free again. The steady version will give more accurate readings, so you can tell more if the runes are helping or hurting. Go smack some Golems, when you get done you will know exactly what you want to buy for your PvE sets without breaking anything.

The main reason GW1 has that was the same as the reason for rune traders in PvP outposts: so you could make quick changes to your gear.

Since PvP has its own gear, there’s no need to safely remove runes from gear.

Instead, PvE gear has several related item sinks.
Since you can’t reuse both the rune or the piece of equipment, that leaves room for new drops.

Now, what about those who want to have several sets and change them?
Well, for that there should be several armor slots you can switch like you can switch between armor and town clothes, so you can make yourself several armors and keep them ready to use and equippable quickly.

2 initial free slots should be fine, plus another 3 you can unlock with gems.

Yes taking runes off the armor without destroying it would be VERY nice. I was just talking about this with some of my Knights last night. This seems to be a request I hear all the time guys.
