I have several friends that want to try Guild Wars 2 but, understandably, they’re hesitant to drop 60 dollars on a game they haven’t tried. Who hasn’t bought a lemon of a game and felt like they wasted their money? One of the ‘nice’ things about a game like WoW or Rift is that frequently players can try the game out to see if they like it.

Arguably, Guild Wars 2 would do a better job of selling itself to the player because the way the game is designed it’s eaiser know what to expect than a lvl 20 limited trial from a subscription MMO.

Maybe this is less desirable for a game with a f2p model, but surely there exists a middle ground where you can expose your product to people who are interested, but aren’t yet ready to buy.

Part of the difficulty I’ve encountered is that its kind of hard to explain how Guild Wars 2 is different from the other MMOs on the market. It would just be easier, and probably more persuasive, to show someone what a cascading group chain event is rather than explain it to them, or that a level 20 player has a reasonable chance of having fun and contributing in WvWvW even against lvl 80 players.

The game has a lot of strong points going for it that would recommend it to a player, but you guys could do a better job marketing your product to the public.

One thing you could do is allow your players to help market your product for you by allowing us to invite our friends and so we can basically show them why this game is awesome. The great thing is the game is designed so that its easy for us to take our lvl 80 necromancer in orr and run over and play with our friend just starting out.

Anyway, just my two cents.

Agree but limit it to one character, only 1-25 zones, limit to the starter zones of the race they chose.
