12 gigabytes…? I had nowhere near that, something seems wrong there.

What’s wrong is him extrapolating from the currently downloaded size and the percentage.
It’s widely known that the percentage refers to the file count, not the size of the download.
Then again yes, there was a 1gb or so update a few days back.
The % is based on number of files. Not on the size of the files. At least from what I’ve read.
A 100 file update that’s 10 GB will be 20% done when it hits file 20 not when it’s finished 2 GB.
There is something wrong, but it’s a user interface issue. At this point I’m at 83% and 1036 MB. Does the percentage done refer to the number of files instead of the total data size? If so I’d say that’s a confusing UI element. No one cares how many files there. All that matters to the download time is the total size of the data.
So it looks like I’ll get to play tonight after all, but I’ll still have spent an hour on the update, so my suggestions are still valid (assuming they are not already being done by the downloader).

Her not him.
But yeah, the download jsut completed. Slightly more than 1 GB total.
As for what the percentage refers to, I’ll only note that it is apparently widely known to people who already know it, which did not include me until just now.
