You can’t police people to play how you want them to play. If someone wants to buy a commander tag and run around doing their own thing, that’s their right. As a normal player you have the choice to follow them or not. If you don’t agree with what they are doing then don’t follow them.

The whole vote to untag someone will be abused by trolls and raging individuals constantly. People would instantly lose 100g.

If 80% of the players were going to vote against a commander then you would have 80% of players not following that commander and thus you wouldn’t being trying to 1 man an invasion.

“then players should have to right to remove that power from them.” That is pretty much the definition of policing.

If a particular group of people hates a certain commander, they could chase him from map to map, and unvote his tag everywhere….

In fact, it might only take one jerk to yell in map chat “Bladibla” is a terrible commander and he’s messing up our event, please everyone, unvote his tag. And countless players would blindly do so.

lol are we going to get technical? They have the right to run around doing what ever they want, whether they have a tag or not.

can i just point out that you have to complete the aetherblade wave (and molten alliance) along with the three waves of minions to spawn scarlet… i keep seeing people in map shouting at commanders at aetherblade spawns whilst the aetherblade bar is still up…

The event also JUST started yesterday so you need to give people some time to figure out how it all works.

You know what, now I’m just going to slap on my commander title and run around in circles. Thanks for giving me that idea. If someone wants to put on their commander title, sit down and eat a freaking sandwich, they can do that. If I want to repeatedly run off cliffs with my commander title on, I’ll do that. Funnily enough I did this and people followed me off the cliff. It’s not within your power to manipulate what everyone with a commander title does in the game.

I like when people complain about us farming aetherblades but the event still finishes with over 10 minutes left.

That was the point of this thread. People were hanging around the aetherblade events after the bar was gone because a couple of commanders wanted to farm the champions.

We passed the final wave but only had a few seconds left, didn’t even have time to waypoint to scarlet before the timer ended.

And I’m all for “Doing what you want”. But that doesn’t mean you have the right to disrupt an event because you think its more profitable to fail.

i know; but i mean people in game on the overflows ive been on have been heckling commanders doing aetherblades whilst the aetherblade bar is still up, which is what the OP doesnt do enough to explain imo (in fact it seems to do the opposite and imply all aetherblade farming is bad… which isnt correct and could lead to the heckling i keep seeing in map chat)

And you still got your event completion achievement, it cost you 1 of her supply stash boxes to get another 50 champ bags. This isn’t even an issue.

I’m sorry, but why are people following commanders in PvE? Commander is for WvW. It doesn’t mean anything, but it is supposed to signify someone with tactical sense in WvW. It certainly doesn’t have anything at all to do with anything in the brand new event that just came out.

If people are causing the event to fail because they’re following around commanders doing kitten all, you need to get another server with not so many sheeple. You don’t need to be trying to restrict commanders from doing what they want. They aren’t forcing people to be idiots, the people are doing that all on their own.

Sorry I gave up, It started as a frustrated rant and I realised it would go no where so decided to delete my post thinking it would delete the whole thread.

When I realised it kept the thread up I deleted my other posts in hopes people would abandon it.
