Please eliminate corpse spies
its a valid tactic.
technically they are not dead anyway.
just “defeated” and unable to move around.

I would not mind it if my team had the ability to do something about it, e.g., burning the corpses. Better yet if burning them caused additional armor damage!
Sounds like a mind numbing way to play the game. I know for a fact there would be ZERO chance you would catch me just sitting there like that. But yeah burning the corpses would be very funny
I agree on both, yes it’s a valid tactic and yes it can be annoying if people do this on purpose cause who needs real tactics if there’s a dead guy telling locations?
The problem is once you are defeated you can stay around as long as you like till the “afk manager” kicks in which takes a while. I think a 5 minute defeat state where you get a forced respawn to the nearest (uncontested) waypoint a good solution but that’s my opinion.
It’s a valid tactic only insofar as it a mechanic that can be abused.
A little popup much like the timer that appears when your queue to get into Lion’s Arch from an overflow server is up appearing at the bottom of the screen for you to choose a waypoint you want to spawn at is perfectly reasonable. If the timer expires the game will automatically send you to the spawn point. 1 minute is more than enough for whoever is defeated to “spy” and inform other people before they are rezzed and can run back to repeat the process of running in, failing to defeat others, being defeated themselves, and spending a minute coordinating tactics.
WvW being the environment that it is, “burning” the corpses or otherwise implementing a way for players to force the defeated to respawn is an excellent idea that would very much fit in with the setting.
My solution:
In WvW, once you die, unlike PvE, where you stare at your corpse, the map forcefully opens to show your possible respawn points, and there is no way to remove it. In other words, you can’t see anything around you until someone starts healing you and the map gives way.

I had a similar thought, but I left it out because if it’s put on a timer anyway why not let them have a little spy action going on? One minute is a whole lot less obnoxious and abusive of the system than sitting around doing whatever while typing out advice to your side with no fear of reprisal.
When you are “dead” in WvsW (aka not downed, but defeated, with a banner rammed through your corpse or health reduced to zero), you should simple have the map open without the ability to see the surroundings, aka without being able to close the map. You are then forced to select a waypoint to rez, and you can’t spy on others.
EDIT: just saw that Auesis made the same proposition two posts higher. This gets my vote too.

Since you’re ‘defeated’ and can’t move around and need ‘revived’ (Suggesting that you’re not conscious), why not just fade-to-black on death so that only your open windows will display, like the map.
But then you lose the fun of jumping up and down or dancing on the corpse until they leave
Force respawn after 2 minutes might be a valid solution.

I like this. Fade to black and have the option to view the map with a timer, say 3-5 minutes before an auto port to nearest WP unless another is selected.
Basically a combination of all the suggestions.
