Please... get rid of the invisible barriers
Couldn’t agree more. This is super annoying and immersion breaking so please get rid of those invisible walls and build the terrain in such a way its not possible to go where we shouldn’t instead.
I agree. The way it pops up saying there is a strong current keeping us from swimming to far out is a great example of explaining areas we can’t get to. More of that. Make a hill a cliff, add walls, etc… This also saves on wasting time. Sometimes I am just SO sure I can go there or there must be a way up…

Totally agree. There are other MMOs that have one continuous map (Perfect World for one – yes I know PW is a horrible MMO, but is shows it is technically possible).
While this is probably not possible in GW2 since it wasn’t designed in from the ground up, the next best would be to allow zoning to the next zone (with a popup so you don’t switch zones accidentally).
Agree.
I was in the area with Tequal the sunless (not sure of the spelling) and there are ruins on a mountain in the southern part of it. We can climb and jump from column to column to the mountain… And oops: a sudden invisible wall even though there is nothing in the way.
I make it short… Agree! It’s not the most important thing in the world, but in a beautiful world like this that pushes you to explore it, you shoudn’t be stopped by invisible (kind of obvious) walls!
This is not as easy as it sounds mind you, The walls are collision data with the models themselves ideally not a single model that has a gap that can be walked into should have a cube bounding box and collision mesh but sadly they do and they do because its a lot cheaper on resources, mesh based collision boxes are more taxing and are often only used on important meshes for the game and breakable models.
Also removing the invisible barrier as far as exploration goes can and will open up a lot of exploitable areas.
As much as I really would love this to come true as much as you guys do it really would not be practical because the game was not designed with this in mind. A game that will not be mentioned undertook heavy alterations to allow this to be possible while still protecting the exploitable parts of the world such as hidden Game master areas which you could get too if they removed the barriers between continents by water.
Agree. If there’s somewhere we are supposed to go, it shouldn’t look like we can. I see this a lot while exploring the scenery. The path I want to take looks perfectly valid, yet I bump into an invisible barrier when I get to it. If the terrain is actually impassable, it should be built that way in the first place. Invisible walls are kind of like offering explorers candy, then snatching it away again.
