Why doesn’t this game have a dungeon finder?

Whenever I want to run a dungeon, now, I seem to spend about half my time in-game trying to find a group. That’s a slight exaggeration, but the effort required to get a group is clearly increasing. Last night I was in LA for an hour trying to find a dungeon group.

That’s part of the problem, too. If I want to run a dungeon, it’s best to hang out in LA and either spam Map or wait for someone else who’s spamming Map. So I’m not out doing my daily or other things, I’m just standing around, which sucks.

gw2lfg.com is nice to have but it’s a poor substitute for the real thing. I’m not sure why the game doesn’t have a dungeon finder – it seems like a huge oversight to me. Is it hard to implement? Harder than guesting?

Some people like to run dungeons and being able to get a group – even a pug group – helps keep them playing. Speaking from personal experience, I’ve sometimes given up looking for a group and just gone off and played something else.

Also, I’d like to run some of the less popular dungeons, more. I like the gear from CoE, but not a lot of people want to run it, because it can take a long time. Having a dungeon finder would make it easier to get a group for the less popular dungeons.

So please, please implement a dungeon finder.

They are too busy making more backpiece looks for their gem shop. Just accept gw2lfg and move on. It’s been beaten to death. They don’t care.

Yep, one of my biggest issues right now. Honestly I don’t really understand why they don’t have a basic feature like this. Surely it can’t be that hard to implement?

There is a dungeon finder. You can look at the map and see every one.

I use that, but as I said, it’s a really poor substitute for the real thing. It’s just a long list of people looking for groups. It doesn’t match people up or anything like that. Plus, there can be lots of people listed who might have logged. There’s a whole host of problems with it.

It was nice of someone to do this w/o advertisements and such, but the game needs a real dungeon finder.

www.gw2lfg.com is really really great. It works.

Given that this site exists, I would prefer Anet spend time on more pressing issues.

Gw2lfg allows me to request experienced players. If a dungeon finder doesn’t let me somehow do that, it would be a step backwards.

as long as its not abused as badly as wow introduced it i guess its fine….but i have a feeeling most of the ppl requesting it , plan to abuse it…..

I thought it worked well. Well, discounting the kittens you’d encounter in them, of course. But I have to say the community here is vastly superior to WoW’s.

I agree that GW2 should have a dungeon finder of sorts. As mentioned above, gw2lfg.com can be a hassle sometimes.

Another suggestion: Build a Dungeon Finder with both an auto-que system and a LFG posting system (ala gw2lfg.com)

The problem that WoW experienced during the initial launch of dungeon finder was due to the tank/healer/dps trinity. Incompetent tanks/healers made people kitten out.
