In general, I like the idea of Jumping Puzzles. A nice little detour from the regular game play. What I do not like about them, however, is doing the same sections over and over and over and over. It gets extremely tedious when every time you make even a small mistake (or simply do not understand where you are supposed to jump to!) you have to go all the way back to the start. Death against the mobs means waypointing, which takes you several minutes away from the start even. This is unnecessary frustration.

To me, the biggest issue is how every slip causes you to fall into the same `fail area’. As such, no matter how close to the end you are, you always have to return to the start. If these were split into multiple fail zones, you could provide ways to climb back up to several different checkpoints along the way. As such, you only need to repeat the current section rather than the whole puzzle.

As a small nice bit, the ability to resurrect at the last checkpoint after a death would be really nice too. Not as big an issue, but it would make them more user friendly.

Well 80% of JP’s are done in about 5 – 10 minutes. Some of them allow you (if you do it correct) to port back to certain area-stations, if you fall down. Sometimes it gets really frustrating, I have to agree. But even then, I prefer the challenge, instead of easy done content. The only JP that was not fun for me till now, is “Not so secret”. Without a portal it’s just a pain.

However in general JP’s are one of the best inventions from A-Net. It’s just too funny

I believe that most JPs in this game are too easy to be honest. It’s not an accomplishment if it takes no skill to complete and has no risk. I think if they could disable portals in jumping puzzles, people might start actually trying to do them… and find out that they aren’t all-together difficult.

I loved the QQ about aetherblade puzzle and clocktower. I enjoy that people enter the more difficult jump puzzles and expect them to be easy…. It’s very counter-intuitive and quite entertaining I must admit. Puzzles that have the potential to kill players are my favorite, as they require more skill and planning, and thus feel more rewarding.

Heck, metrica was even so dangerous for a bit that if you fell, you could get BANNED! Talk about risks!
