The escort quests take long enough, and although you only need one of the reinforcements to start the escort towards the temple, the temple escort is hard enough to give up after 1 try. The amount of people needed to complete the actual fight is insane ive had around 20+ and still fail and its hard enough to gather people. I dont mind gathering people as i feel no one else makes an effort to do so but atleast make the fight a bit easier.

You want the event nerfed because it takes too many people and is hard?

The event scales to how many people are participating. So, if you have a larger group..it’s going to be harder but the rewards are supposedly better. If you have a smaller number of people participating the event will get easier but you’re drops won’t be that great.

That being said, I run this event every few weeks so I am able to buy my obsidian shards for my legendary. Honestly, I feel it’s one of the easier temple events considering it opens up a vendor for a crucial part of your legendary.

If you’re having trouble gathering people for it, try popping in to LA and shouting. I can almost promise you you’ll find a horde of people willing to help with the event. You can also post of GW2LFG.com, a great resource for finding groups/people for events.

The time limit annoys me, but overall I like the fact it is at times very hard. The temple events in general are more fun because of it and it’s a shame the dragons feel so dumbed down in comparison.

As Paper Animal says though, shout for people and they will come. We got 50+ for this event at nearly 2am on our server after a call out went round Cursed Shore and LA. Only just did it mind, but a big early hours cheer went round when we did

Im not asking for a walk in the park but 50+ for an event is rediculous, i do ask in map chat cs la and guild, people only join during temple escort, at the boss or when you manage to get more than 10 ppl

I was in a group of just over 20 and we got it done.

If people do their own thing, the event is hard. If you organise yourself into small groups before the event, it’s a lot easier.

I agree with the Balthazar being to hard and rediclously long. Not only that but the event gets glitched most of the time I can never find people wanting to do the event chain when I have time to play. and as for the rewards in GW2 I think they are weak kill a vet get a blue kill a champ get greens

Yeah just to clarify..it doesn’t need 50+, it’s just thats how many we raised. As Dai says, organisation and coordination (like all the temple) is the difference to completing it. If everyone is “going it alone” so to speak, its a fail

Hmm if it werent for the 97% win rate in tpvp when it was alive id say maybe im just bad but thats not the case, calling me bad in a group based content is rediculous. Not everyone has time to perfectly coordinate 20+ pugs, but i do and maybe i need to get better at coordinating balth but im deffinately not bad. I constantly coordinated melandru grenth and arah steps before it was nerfed, dwayna is a cake walk….but balth is slightly overtuned. Look for me Spirits Within on Anvil Rock i guarantee if you have been farming orr recently you have seen me gathering people

The biggest problem that I have seen with this event is pugs don’t run back. They sit there dead yelling for a rez. It takes 30 secs to run back from the waypoint. With balth if you sit still and try and Rez someone you are dead as well. Teach everyone around you the fight and you will succeed.

You can do it with 5-10 people. It’s actually harder with more people, because a greater proportion will die and not use the waypoint, meaning there will be many many people dead and not doing anything, and the fact that they are there increases the difficulty of the priest making it harder to kill.

I would definitely agree with the biggest problem being that pugs dont run back. If you rez the downed players you can keep the event running smoothly but fully dead players should use the waypoint and run back. I’ve seen a LOT of pugs lay on the ground fully dead asking/waiting for a rez. The run back just isn’t that far….

That being said, the fight itself is easy. Keep the acolytes dead and range the priest.

The event scales up with dead players as well. If you have 10 living players and 20 fully dead players who refuse to go back to the waypoint, then it’ll be much harder than if you just had 10 living players.

oh, and once you see the wells on the ground, move between them and anticipate a fear and keep the route your feard toon would take clear off those wells.

Yes, on Blackgate it’s uncontested quite often. If it’s not you can always find people willing to help you with the event whether they need shards too or it’s a 70+ trying to gain some levels.

It isn’t that hard. But the way he heals when he has 1 hit left is total bs though. All bosses that tend to do that, like Gargantula, are cheap as hell.

Populations have diminished so much its got to the point its very seldom completed..

Its so much hassle to do, the ones that would do it just cant be asked because its not worth the frustration, for blue and green items in a chest…

The issue isnt the difficulty of the fight – its that the difficulty and enjoyability of the fight is currently dependent upon the active population of your server.

It is time for either server merges of lower pop servers or implementation of some kind of “underflow” (or, just as good, unrestricted guesting between servers – eg, not dependent on where your friends have accounts) to give people on ALL servers the ability to bring enough people to the fight.
