Please, nerf the Mesmer in pvp...
From a Mesmer, You’re thread is biased and I don’t believe you have truly played a Mesmer.
I don’t use generic 30/30/10 build
Phantasm can NOT ignore barriers / walls … It says miss/obstructed
You can only have 3 clones.
You can EASILY tell the difference between Clones/Player
-Clones do NOT have an offhand
-Clones only use 1 skill
-Clones do not move nearly as much as the player does
-Clones do not have signet buffs
-Clone when summoned have NO buffs
While I do think Mesmers have an advantage in PvP. I also feel they are one of the harder classes to play. #Faceroll Mesmers wont do well. AoE effects Tear threw Mesmers … if your having problems with them .. bring in some AoE.
Your problems are not with the Mesmer class, This is a simple L2P issue for yourself and the players you played against.
And everyone knows there is a bug with stealth right now.
This is silly. Mesmers make for a fun fight in PVP, whether I’m playing mine or against someone else’s.
You don’t come into suggestions and start saying “nerf x class”. These forums are not another outlet for profession kittening.
As Fievre said, this is silly. Mesmers are not OP, they just play differently than you’re used to, and whether you’re playing as one or fighting against one, it’s a new world to actually deal with deception in an MMO aside from “stealth”. That doesn’t mean OP.
Mesmers are definitely the most powerful class at the moment. Whether it’s OP or not, dunno. But if you play it right, a mesmer cannot be caught/killed in a 1v1 situation and can force you to flee.
best statistical loot in the game. We want everyone on equal power base.”
As a Thief I kill plenty of Mesmers. I don’t want to imply you don’t understand how to play/kill one. So I will just give you a tip on how to deal with a Mesmer. Take your time before you engage one, the player is easy to spot because of the movement and buffs as Biohazard said. Once you pinpoint a Mesmer they’re very squishy. Take a signet, use a skill, or invest in a trait that removes conditions while you run them down.
Good luck
Mesmer and thief are the most powerful 1v1 classes atm. A well played mesmer can kill any player with equal skill level. But for the most part its not all about the classes. The games re-rendering of character entering and exiting stealth is broken and when that gets fixed it will be another story
IMO anything with stealth should simply be set to 80-90% transparency. It is stealth, not invisibility, there should be an outline or a shimmer effect, something that gives them away to those able to percieve it. This will shut down most of the whinning and give those that do whine something to get better at (paying attention).
Mesmers are not OPed….I find the entire class system to be about the most balanced I’ve ever seen on a brand new game, that said you need to set yourself up different if your having issues with mesmers, and then of course theres the stealth bug.
