Please place EB JP doorway in SM
Dragonband
I’d take it a step further. The entrance should behave the same way as waypoints and become contested the moment SM becomes contested. Aside from mechanics that still need to be fixed (given that a single puppyhole autoattacking the door can contest a point), that helps make sure defenders can’t hurt their own servers by going to jump puzzle instead of defending.
Even if the Mystic Portal doesn’t get moved to SM, using the contesting mechanic at the keeps shouldn’t be difficult, either.
Forcing PvEers to deal with PvP during a momentary contesting of a point can only help reduce the already-ridiculous prices on “Vial[s] of PvE Whiner Tears” anyway.

I very much doubt these suggestions even get through so why bother

I see two problems with this immediately.
1) Small servers VS huge servers. I’m currently playing on NSP, have been since release. We used to have quite a population but a lot of people left due to high que times (upwards of 4 hours). Now we’re a smaller server, and we almost never have a large number of people in WvW. We are currently up against two servers who apparently have no issue with population. We are almost constantly getting wiped out by vastly superior numbers. Ever seen the movie ‘300’? Yeah, it’s like that. We generally only are able to take things at odd hours of the morning (odd hours for me, maybe we have a lot of Oceanic players or something). Our odds of claiming Stonemist are low, not because we aren’t good, but simply because we almost never have the numbers to do it. Perhaps this will be a problem ANet will address, particuarly now that transfers are paid, but as for the moment it remains an issue.
2) From the comments posted here thus far I see that you don’t have much care for “PVE uber champions”. Well, making the JP only accessible via Stonemist invites them in even further. If you do this you completely removes the aspect of PvP from the jumping puzzle by only allowing one server to access it at a time. I don’t know about your servers, but our EB JP is a PvP hotspot and I always find fights in there when I visit. Removing PvP from the JP invites the very issue you seem to be trying to avoid. Contesting the actual JP would help to remedy this, but a whole cart of other issues would have to be fixed to make this viable. How would it be contested? Would people inside get kicked out? Would they get to stay? As stated by silverfire a random dude running up and thwacking the door of Stonemist contests the whole place. This issue would also need to be fixed.
JP should be gone for WvW all together.. but if they HAVE TO HAVE THEM, then this sounds like it might work.

So your wanting the JP to be carebear with absolutely no risk especially if you’re on an overpopulated server and control it at all times.. Sounds fair, or not.. I’m all for completely removing it from WvW but your suggestion is dumb IMO.
Just totally remove that JP, giant grub and all vistas. All these pve stuff are horrible in wvw.

I’ve been pondering just having a 5th BL in the center of the BL maps with all 4 WvW JPs. Balancing PvE tears is cool but queues are still an issue for large servers.

JP is not that big of an issue guys.
What youre suggesting is giving free badges/blueprints to the dominant server with no risk involved. In more competitive matchups this could work but in every other matchup where an established lead exists this only results in people monopolizing the JP. Might as well just give every player on the winning server free badges and blue prints without the need for a JP at all.
When word gets out, everyone hop on the bandwagon and transfer to the winning server. And no, paid transfers aren’t a deterrent, only to the newest players.
The jumping puzzle would make much more sense if w3 felt more like an open world pvp game, but we’re so funneled into what we can and cannot do with our time there that it’s become taboo for many. It should be a part of what is our open world to explore and fight in but with increasing limited spots on maps (especially borderlands) which were supposed to involve hundreds of players at a time and very few reasons to detach from the one or two zergs, our world map is more like a corner or town of a pve world map and the jumping puzzle feels separate. Sieges happen way too fast to even think about doing anything else but attacking or defending structures for people who keep track of points, and everyone else are flipping camps or flags or running over small groups around yaks, there’s no time or room to live in w3, you only visit now to finish your dailies mostly.

The best way is still putting those WvW JPs in a separate PvP instance, which is not affecting WvW.
