Please put a cap on "Agent of Entropy"
Yeah, agreed. I’m getting it up to twice a day at the moment through normal play.
I have no idea any more how many of my achievement points are “Real” and how many are down to this.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Agreed. A guildie of mine posted a screenshot of someone with 25.000 achievement point. 18.000 of which were from salvages.
Just make it increase linearily like that guy with the 25k suggested himself:
First tier: 100
Second tier: 200
Third tier: 300
Fourth tier: 400
The guy with the 25k would be down to less than 10k with a simple measure like that.

So if you do the same thing for the hundredth time how is that an achievement? Obviously you know you can do it. As its such an arbitrary term, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

10k would still be way too much. I think there should be a hard cap of no more than 1k. It took me 7 months of doing a whole range of achievements to earn 5k, I don’t think it should be possible to get 10k in one day by buying and salvaging a bunch of whites.
This achievement having no cap undermines the value of all other achievements.
Please explain how.

It takes months of commitment to complete all Slayer, Boss, and Jumping Puzzle achievements. You can earn the same number of achievement points you would earn from all those achievements by simply salvaging for an hour straight.
I’m not following this. Why is this a bad thing?
Your achievements are your business. If you get them from doing a ton of work, then you did a ton of work and you know you acheived those things. If you acheived them by salvaging every single item you’ve ever seen, then you did that. Who cares who did what? The interesting thing is, you’re still even. There is nothing stopping you from salvaging junk forever and boosting your entropy, and nothing stopping them from doing the other ones. But, once the others ones are done they’re done forever. Entropy and dailies/monthlies mean you can earn forever.
I do notice that you’re not asking for dalies and monthlies to stop earning acheivements, when they, presumably offer the same “impairment.” Acheivement points are supposed to be some sort of future currency, or tabulation, or something. Following the concept of play your way, why should entropy nutters not get to earn them their way?

what do you even use the achievement points for anyway? apart from logging in and contributing to your guild (which is never a bad thing, no matter how you do it)
how is this hurting anyone exactly?
to my knowledge its the only achievement you can continue to get over and over. 2 years down the road when you have all the exploration, story and slayer achievements finished off entirely and get new ones within a few hours / days, what will you have left?
Agent of Entropy. Good ol reliable source of kitten.. er, I mean, “Personal Achievement Points.”

I’m not opposed to the way daily achievement points work, because they are finite. At the current rate, if you do every single daily achievement every day for a year, you will earn about 3k achievement points. Whereas with entropy, you can get a 100k in one week if you wanted to, and it is not bounded by anything.
