While the guesting ability allows people to go to other servers temporarily which is great and all, I really would like to visit my friends on the European servers at times (since I’m on an American server).

While it was deemed to not be possible when guesting was put in (see this link) I had hope maybe Arenanet might have found a method of possibly allowing it for the future. Is it being worked on at all, or is it just a case of “if you want to play with people on servers which aren’t guestable, go transfer”?

They are probably looking into it.
But at the same time it might prove too difficult/expensive to be worth it.
This is after all not a big problem for most of the playerbase.

It is for me. This deal with the split EU and US servers has completely halved our entire guild. Many of the people I used to play with, are now on a different server, and they can’t visit. It also makes it extremely hard to host community events, since half the players can’t attend. And it sucks.

Agree – there is a need to be able to guest between America and Europe. The cost is prohibitive for those of use who want to tie up with our friends on the other side of GMT.
