Possibility to turn off confirmation windows
What we actually need are fewer confirmation requirements on mundane bits and more confirmations on important game changing things…
lunawisp was my peacebringer on City of Heroes – she lives on in memory as my gaming id.
Yes please. Though I see a problem with people turning it off and then messing up…and then…But yes, the amount of confirmations is starting to get annoying.
Bumping this with an example:
Bought a large number of glory chests in Mists, as I was hunting for gear I didn’t have yet plus dyes. Inventory piled up with items rather quickly, so I used “Deposit all collectibles”, which cleared up some spaces. However, for the rest of the remaining items, either salvaging or destroying them required me to confirm it each and every time. Since you can’t just throw the skins into the Mystic Forge in Mists, these were the only options I had. And it was tedious and time-consuming.
Another option would be just to bind the confirmation “Yes” to some key, if making confirmation windows fully toggleable is to much work.
yup, agreed, salvaging items in the mists can be such an annoying task i remember having to salvage like 40 items at one time, and for each on confirmation window…
you could also make them different rarity-like white, blue, green…not all exotics
i don’t pvp. i’m getting heartily sick of having to type in “Killstreak Blah Blah Blah Booster” EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. i remove this item so i don’t take up space with it!
Bumping this, maybe there are more people who find it annoying.
The whole purpose, I feel, is for it to be as annoying as possible.
If players could disable it with a button (or key) what’s to prevent players from just auto-piloting said button and then making major mistakes all over again?
The implementation of this is fine, and while it hurts the smarter player, it helps the average player.
I hate to sound mean, but in any online game, the “average player” is a mindless player who typically can’t carry their own weight.

Agreed. Which is why there can still be a solution to make everyone happy.
Pasting my statement on the subject from a previous discussion regarding the Zhaitaffy candy. here
A right click option to “buy X amount” with a confirmation window that says “Buying 250 of X will cost Ygold, etc”
If for whatever reason they’re unwilling (or unable to) give the ability to buy multiples at a time then, how about the option to have confirmations or not? A checkbox somewhere in the vendor window that says “Confirm purchse”, checked it would pop up the box, uncheck it wouldn’t. It would be checked by default on any vendor window. Resets back to checked if window closes/reopens. Easy solution for everyone.
Well, the toggle in the options could show a warning popup that in case any mishaps happen, Anet will not fix them, so effectively putting the responsibility on the shoulders of the player.
I’d be willing to take the responsibility for my clicks and mis-clicks. And currently it’s just awful.
Another thing that might be assist this itch would be binding some keyboard shortcuts to Yes/No (like Y and N or Return and Esc).
If you don’t think this is a problem, buy 10 glory chests from pvp vendors and try it out. It’s ok when you get lucky and deposit majority but what happens when you already have most skins: you can either salvage or drop them. And both of these actions require confirmation.
