Vanquishing

  • What Is It? – Vanquishing is killing all of the mobs in a specific area (in this case, the dungeon). In exchange for this, players would get an additional reward for their trouble.
  • What does this help with? – Depending on the reward, it would encourage players to not skip the majority of the mobs.

Call To Arms

  • What is this? – Every day / 3 days / week, the dungeon is causing more of problem than usual. The entry event and dungeon will increase in difficulty, with additional mobs and bosses. Players completing a dungeon under Call To Arms will recieve additional rewards.
  • What does this help with? – Less frequently visited dungeons will see more activity.

The Story of Destiny’s Edge

  • What is it? – A log book that has a page for each Story Mode dungeon. Completly filling the book will allow you to trade in for a number of rare crafting materials (i.e. Lodestones, Essence, Ectos). Numbers per book would have to be balanced so effort is rewarded, but market doesn’t get flooded.
  • How does this help? – Encourages people to visit Story Mode dungeons more than once.

Lodestones for Tokens

  • What is this? – A vendor will exchange a number of tokens from each for lodestones of your choice (i.e. 10 for one lodestone). To prevent players only running one dungeon, tokens from each dungeon will be required.
  • How does this help? – Encourages players to visit other dungeons.

Bonus Mission Objectives

  • What is it? – Alongside the main objective, the dungeon would also have a bonus objective. For example, in AC you need to find different pieces to a tablet to aid the Priory with their research. Collecting all of the pieces will earn the group extra rewards. Every run the pieces will be placed in random locations.
  • What does this do? – Discourages speed runs and encourages exploration.

Note: These suggestions should only be implemented alongside similar open-world suggestions, so that players aren’t funnelled into dungeons for the best rewards

I don’t like doing this, but ‘bump’ in light of recent events – no more waypoint zerging.

Since the risk has possibly increased, so should potential rewards to stop people skipping over stuff.

I like that Lodestone idea, that’s a great incentive (for me anyways) to keep me playing other dungeons! But I think 10 tokens is too cheap a price, lodestones are supposed to be hard to get, 10 tokens means 6 lodestone every run, and 2 every subsequent runs, far too much. It will encourage lodestone farming. Lodestones are supposed to be extremely hard to get, so maybe 100 tokens for a lodestone.

If you think that’s a bit much, some of my guildies have like 5000 CoF tokens, so 10 tokens… too cheap :P

In reality, it’d be more like 80 tokens, since it’s 10 tokens from each dungeon, not just 10 tokens. Not a single type of lodestone for each dungeon.

Yeah! Bring back vanquishing from GW1! I’m all up for more reasons not to skip content.
