We all know that the most expensive stuff on the tp right now are precursors and other mystic forge items (with the exception of legendaries… which shouldn’t be there in the first place – leads me to believe Anet allowed that so that people would be inclined to buy them with gems…). ANYWAY ALOT of people including myself are appauled at the prices of precursors, which are rising by the minute… SOOO why not make it so that after completing some sort of legendary task or event you will recieve an account bound precursor? Instead of throwing gold at the mystic forge and receiving nothing or banking on the 0.000000000001% chance it will drop off a mob – none of which are considered as “legendary tasks” in my book.

I mean come on legendary items are supposed to be legendary. If i walk up to someone and say “oh wow nice legendary, how did you get the precursor” and he says “oh i got it as a random drop” and them im like “-.-”. seriously.

Or at the very least if you ever plan on giving away precursors like you did with the november event again, make them account bound also so it doesn’t kitten with the TP…

What happened with precursors is that some smart fellow(s) made a bunch of money off of some investment (maybe hoarded tons of T6 mats before ascended came out and then cashed out). He/she then used this money to purchase as many precursors as possible to raise the price. Knowing that others will ultimately buy the precursors for use (essentially removing them from the game), they then place some back on the tp for large profits. The cycle continues and worsens as they gain more money. How it can be “fixed”? Allow players to choose a certain precursor (maximum of 1) and do a long quest line to obtain it (it can be grindy, confusing, difficult, and expensive as long as it doesn’t cost the player a truly significant amount of gold ~50g would be acceptable to me.) making obtaining it somewhat of a task that cannot be repeated. This will allow players that want their legendary a feasible means of obtaining it while still being something earned over time rather than prying from the clutches of somebody who played the market at the right time.

Or they could add more ways to get precursors so they become more common and prices fall.

People are misunderstanding the “Legendary” category.

It does not mean that the weapons should carry some kind of legend or that it should make someone a legend for having it.

It simply refers to the rarity.

And honestly, the Legendaries in this game are much, much easier to get than the top gear in many other games.

I don’t have anything against them being expensive like 300-500g or so, what I do feel is wrong is that the prices are increasing every day, which means the longer you take the more gold you will need. Basically only people that farm 24/7 for months can get them.

I have to disagree with you here. Legendaries are suppose to be the crowning achievements of GW2. Whenever someone with a legendary passes by, I can’t help but admire them. I myself am on the way to legendary, and it’s a long a difficult journey (if you don’t just spend $800 real-life money that is). This commitment to a task, and the perseverance to achieve it, is what makes legendaries, “legendary”, and the person who wields one ’legendary" as well.
