Hello there! I’m a person, who in the recent time has been playing alot of PvP. Amongst many others, I have come to the conclusion that: “In order to be the most successful in gaining glory, one must zerg, not strategize,” which is a shame.

For many people, random 8v8 is about getting effectively gaining as much glory as possible. With that in mind, I have started to observe, amongst myself, friends and strangers that the objective in sPvP 8v8 is sometimes to get the highest amount of glory, not to win, which involves mindless zerg. This, in my book is a rather big problem.

For me, it is the same. I want alot of glory in sPvP, but in tPvP I solely want to win, and to humiliate the other players, hue hue, to be the best, this winning gives the very decent rewards in itself, the tourny chests, which leads to some very cool looking armor (heavy armageddon <3). Therefore, I believe the problem only presents itself in sPvP.

I propose a “glory fix”. According to me, and I think the various warmasters across Tyria will agree with me on this point, there are most glory to be won in winning!. Hence there should be awarded more point for the winning team. This will make players play more strategized and not zergingly, which will overall increase the quality of sPvP, and maybe to some extend improve the teamwork with strangers (!).

I have seen a bunch of proposals about glory, and I don’t really care how this problem is adressed, as long as it is. To me, the most logical fix to this is replacing the silly 30 point bonus, with a 50% or even a 100% boost of ones earned points, or something along those lines.

This will, of course, create an inflation of glory, and make it easier to increase in rank than Anet intended to. This could be adressed by increasing the amount of glory needed by half of the bonus added, so people who has a win/lose ratio on exactly 1:1 wont feel any difference. Let me explain this with an example:

People gain a bonus on 100% of the glory they earned in the fight if they win.
They also have to gain 50% more glory to increase rank.
Result = the winning match is much more worth
????

Aaaaanyways, this way it will only affect the lethaly slackened “winner mentality” amongst gw2’ers.

Wheew! That was one point, now to the next. Have some of you ever tried to play the defensive point controlling person? Have you ever looked at the scoreboard after a fight with you in that role? You’re at the bottom?! But you did insanely well? Kept the clocktower pestfree an entire match? Not surprising.

Guild Wars 2’s current award system is somewhat flawed, and favours some roles over others. Especially the defending role gets ledt behind. This time I will cut to the chase.. For this reason, I believe there should be a minor glory reward for stalling and making enemies unable to cap or recap a point. Maybe like 3 glory per 3 sec of something for staying on a point with an enemy near. A capped point obv.
