PvP in the real world? Vigil/Priory/Whisper
People of Tyria create a pact to destroy dragons. These pacts contain Tyrians of all races, sizes, beliefs and backgrounds.. Why on earth would they fight each other especially after banding together to defeat elder dragons?
And remember, they even say at the end of the personal story that many more dragons remain and their job is far from over.

The Game is split into 3 Sections because of a Reason. If PvE players want PvP, they go into PvP or WvW. And in WvW there are 3 Factions already fighting, so what’s the point of that?
I don’t know from which MMO you got that Idea from, but it’s really not suitable for Guild Wars 2.

Because it’s fun :-D
Open World PvE is co op.
if you want open world PvP, u’ll find it in WvW.
small scale PvP (from 5 vs 5 to 10 vs 10) will be via sPvP
There’s a number of issues with this:
- The Personal Story – What happens to the players who haven’t even joined a faction yet? What happens when their story is telling them that the organizations are working together, but in the open world they’re fighting each other? It’s just disjointed.
- Events – Events are supposed to be about co-operation. If you can damage other players with your attacks during events, then chances are players are just going to kill each other before they complete the event. Not to mention it could potentially reduce the chances of players completing the event (If you hit 2 players with a greatsword, then you can only hit 3 more enemies)
Rather than asking for OWPvP, why not ask for improvements to be made to WvW to give that feeling?
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
No because it doesn’t fit the story being told, the lore of Guild Wars 2. The story is of these groups being drawn to work together by your efforts. To then make them fight ingame makes the story line nonsensical.
I also disagree with this idea, however… both in the personal story and ghosts of ascalon, the orders are time and time again infiltrated by double agents or others who want to start wars amongst the orders or certain groups. So it wouldn’t be that far fetched for something like that to happen.

No.
ANet said they will not put in world PvP as it goes against their game philosophy of payers helping players in PvE.

“A lot of the elements that make MMOs not appealing to fans have been removed from Guild Wars 2. You’re never running around in the world and another player can run up and kill you or anything. We’ve removed all of those elements, so other players only help you and make the game more fun. That’s made the game a lot more compelling and easy for people who love role-playing experiences to get into.”
