GW2 is not GW1.
In case you missed it, we did not get anything on GW2 on either St Pat’s or Thanksgiving. Can’t say for TLAPD, since I hadn’t bought the game at that time.
And let’s be honest, Thanksgiving and St Pat’s are far from being comparable to Christmas or Halloween in terms of international celebrations go. Heck, TLADP isn’t even an official holiday anywhere in the world. As an example, Thanksgiving has no status in Finland as a holiday. It’s just a date with a fancy name.
And finally, political events are not holidays. It might be a major event in a single country, but if we started celebrating every single major political event in all the European countries and the US, we’d be having celebrations like every week.

I don’t expect anything from anet, because of what olba said, it’s not an event that matters to americans or other countries. Maybe anet could make some stuff orange for a day, like orange flags and such.

Would love that, or an orange guild cape thing in the gem store.
I don’t care much about Thanksgiving either, I don’t think a.net should only focus on the american market. They’re not the only people in the world. Furhtermore, while I love the christian inspired events, I would love more cross-cultural things like passover and sugarparty. Anything to take away the american-christian bias that seems to permeate videogames. Canthan newyear and st. pats are good examples for that.

I’m Dutch myself and I think ANet should spend their time on content updates rather than an event celebrated in only one country. However, given that this is indeed a pretty major event, it’d be nice to have even the slightest thing added. Maybe an Orange Dye Kit with a few dyes from the orange spectrum in the Gem Store? Maybe a (Royal) Crown helmet skin in the Gem Store?
It’s quite short-term with only a few days remaining to mention it now, so I don’t expect anything special from ANet in-game. I’ll likely just mix in some orange dye in all my characters’ armor for a day.
P.S. Holland is only a part of the Netherlands

@pureblade: I know, but most people abroad don’t seem to know that, just like England is part of the UK, US=/=America and Belgian people don’t speak french :p

How about an in-game music box with the King’s song that they wrote. so we can smash it to pieces?
Inside info: (To celebrate the new king of Holland, they wrote a god-awful song and wanted the whole country to sing it to the king like faithful servants. Since Holland isn’t entirely made of mindless zombies, everyone and their mother hated the song, causing the songwriter to resign due to all the bile coming his way.)

They are way to busy to even think of stuff like this, and you ask to make it on short term right? Well reading your signature:

But ye a special Orange dye in the gem shop would be doable.
