Q:
Query on monthly Achievement award requirements
It really isn’t hard to get 50 kills. You don’t even need to kill them. You can sit at a tower/keep and tag attackers/defenders. I got the monthly in one day by doing that.

What in the world is a tag? How would I go about it? Honestly, I have zero interest in entering WvW at all, let alone spending an entire day lurking in a keep twiddling my fingers unless and until attacked. I have better things to do with my day then to grind through pvp encounters.
I strongly agree with you Nyxmyst. I for one love to pvp and WvW is the best. But when I first seen the monthly Achievement on the first day at release. I was surprised to see pvp stuff in there. Not everyone wants pvp or can cause of health reasons. There should be an options for players to kill 50/50 Monthly WvW players kills or Monthly kills of 1500/1500 for example.
That would work. I would have no qualms about having a much larger number of normal pve kills to acquire in order to have a fair equivalent to someone doing pvp kills.
The monthly achievement is not required for you to do for any reason, it is not a necessity. It is to reward those players who dip into the varying things the game has to offer during that month.
If you have no interest in WvW, then don’t worry about the monthly achievement, just ignore it. The rewards are not such that you will be punished in any way for doing so.
45,000 extra karma per month? I’d say I’m definitely missing out on the opportunity to collect that in a monthly achievement. The daily achievement does not require pvp…why should the monthly?
Because the daily is different from the monthly, and obviously ANet felt that WvW should be a part of the monthly.
If you feel like you’re missing out on the rewards from the monthly, I suggest asking a few friends or even a couple of guild members to come with you to help reach the goal. Again, though, you are at no disadvantage, nor are you being punished, for ignoring the achievement.
And then there are those of us who can’t WvW because it’s a slideshow with people attacking invisible people and skill effects coming out of nowhere. I’d love to be able to get the monthly achievement but it’s just impossible for me to do with the way it’s currently set up.
Because daily and monthly achievements are there to encourage people to do different things.
You don’t get people to kill enemies in WvW by giving alternatives.
You do something, you get a reward.
And the rewards are not something unique. They are just mystic coins, karma, coins and exp. You can get all of those in other ways.
It’s true that there’s problems in WvW like long queues and people not fighting and going to explore for points and 100% instead doing WvW, but those are a different matter.

Tagging is landing a few hits. That’s it. You don’t need to kill anyone yourself at all. Go around doing your own business (there are mobs, nodes, skill points, vistas etc.) until the server gets riled up over a tower or keep assault, and lob AoE on the doors and walls, or in to the middle of zergs. Easy 50 kills in a few hours.

Something to keep in mind is that the monthly achievements change every month. This month they changed the Survivor Achievement into the Candy Corn achievement. Next month they might change the WvW achieve into a dungeon achieve.
The point with monthly achieves is that they are supposed to push you into a well rounded experience if you want the reward. The reward isn’t necessary, but it is something people will want. It encourages exploration with in the game, which is the point.
They will change over time, every month. So one month you may not want to do any of them, but you might find the next month is everything you hoped and dreamed.
