I would absolutely love to see some Musketeer style rapiers make their way into the game perhaps for Thief/Mesmer and maybe even Necro/Elementalist classes.
Good idea! It should be based on critical points stabbing and counter attacks. The list of melee weapons and ranged that can be introduced in the game is astronomical. One step at a time I guess.
I’d like to see rapiers added as weapons skins (possibly with alternative attacking animations). If they’re added in this manner we can have rapiers, scimitars, katana, etc, added without having to worry about new weapon skills and balancing issues.
Yes please. This thread shows up every few days. It would be great if anet bothered to add even one rapier skin to the game. An actual set with skills would be much better, though.
I think this would be an awesome replacement/alternative for the sword main hand on thief.

Rapier/(No Offhand)
Slice combo (same as sword but with a bleed and lower strike damage)
Lunge (like Heartseeker without the leaping bit)
Retreat (same as Shadow Strike with increased sword damage and no follow up shot)

Riposte (something similar to Nine Tailed Strike from spear)

Feint (like Flanking Strike with a Headshot instead of the two stabs)

Glad to see others like the idea of Rapiers coming to the game even back in GW1 while playing my mesmer, I felt so horrible playing with a ‘wand’ and thought my character would look completely classy with a rapier hehe
