RMB pressed for Mouse Look mode and an aiming cross hair
I am all for this, in fact I meant to post this ages ago, but the game distracted me.
You got my vote.
They could change controls in general but I’m afraid they won’t. I mean it wasn’t so hard to implement any type of mouse look but for some reason we have to all-time-hold that RMB… my middle finger is already crying of pain after GW2 marathon since 25th…
Well holding the button is needed because otherwise we would not be able to surf the inventory easily…
I don’t know, I hold my right button with my ring finger and use my pinky for my strate button (5 button mouse) and it works fine…might depend of your mouse size (Too small?)
As for the aiming reticule, well the only tricky part would be to ignore the cursor position and use the middle of the screen as the position…but it can’t be THAT hard…
Then again, depends how it is coded…
Still, maybe in a year or 2 they will add this But for now they are still balancing stuff I guess

Please don’t act so short minded. Why exactly wouldn’t I be able to surf in inventory? I press I to open inventory and tadaaaaaam – my cursor reappears – quit – my cursor disappears – simple as that. Please use imagination or atleast play other games than the one and only you favor.
(it was working in Tera, I have completely no idea why it wouldn’t work here)
Actualy people did it with scripting – just visit reddit. Problem is ANet didn’t put any statement about if it’s legal or not.
And I asure you GW2 controls are VERY old and clumsy in comparisment to how could they be (with completely 0 change into game mechanics).
As for AoE – you could cast it where center of your screen is or hold alt for example to make your cursor to appear and start moving it from the center of the screen (so it won’t be like you aim somewhere, press button and your cursor is in completely diffrent place). This is just in case when you need to launch AoE from arround the corner or want to throw it behind you. Anyway the way how character moves should be diffrent so i don’t have to rotate camera behind me in order to run and throw spells behind me. Anyone here played Dark Souls or Demon’s Souls? That system would be perfect (with character allways facing the enemy when you lock target on him and when you drop target lock you could run in the direction you press keys, i.e. pressing S wouldn’t make you to move backwards but actualy face the camera and run that way – you would move backwards if target locked on enemy infront of you – and that’s just one basic idea and there are so many more options to make controls more fluent).

I’d just be glad they change GTAoE abilities with a simple press and hold-> position-> fire at release, resetting the pointer at the centre of the screen at the beginning of positioning phase.
More simple and effective than both the regular and the fast(and blind) ground targeting systems in game at the moment.
The problem mainly is that the pointer goes MIA duiring heavy fights, so GTAoEs often misfire where they shouldn’t.
I’d also like to see an option to toggle GTAoE to perform like TBAoe (Target Based, centering on target) in place of the fast option we have now.
