Seriously, Anet put RNG eveywhere except where it’s needed.

RNG was fun in gw1 when you open birthday gift and you dont know what’s in it : rare mini pet or pure kitten.

Was fun.

NN the same mini on my 13 chars, nn xp boost or whtver.

What a fail. I dont even have a reason to reinstall this game anymore :/

Guild Wars 2 is like a bad remix of “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut. In order to make sure no one gets upset, all efforts are made to make everyone as equal and homogenized as possible – thereby ruining anything that resembles anything interesting .

Oorrrrrr if they did this, people would complain that they got an ugly mini and that they hate RNG for giving them something they don’t want, with zero choice

Yeah given the choice of random centaur, random elemental, random harpy, random corsair or Queen Jennah, I’d rather they just gave the Queen Jennah mini pet. I remember the excitement of rng mini… I also remember being disappointed by the boring pet I ended up with year after year…

People would moan whicever way they did it. At least we are getting something for free

I just hope they dont make the minis soulbound. I want to be able to sell them years down the road for massive gold to new players who want my 4 and 5 year minis.

It’s probably too late for them to change it now.

I’d be in favour of RNG minis only if they’re not account bound. If you can trade them to get rid of ones you don’t want or get ones you do then it’s a great system, but Anet really seem to like making things account bound and that would ruin it.

Lol so when we QQ about RNG they decide to remove it for 1 aspect of the game and when they do we QQ again!?

I also have 8 chars that will ALL be 1 year old as soon as this game is 1 year old but tbh I really don’t know what I want out of these birthday gifts….or how they should handle them.

Ten alts, not a single worthwhile mini.
Friend has one, literally one character. Zhu and MOX. Yeah. RNG is NOT good, especially with things you only have a single shot at, and especially if the difference between results is ~the cost of a Legendary.

Forget the RNG. If the b-day actually contained something like… 15g + 15 laurel + 100k karma, their wouldnt be so many ppl complaining and it would actually be a gift lol. What we’re getting is pretty sad. I know i dont use minis and im sure most other players dont, a 24 hour birthday booster…… i have no idea what it does but dont really care bc its a boost after all and a xp scroll…. thats just laughable. So us loyal customers who have been playing the game since head start/release, r we being rewarded accordingly? Idk is that what playing a year of gw2 is worth to Anet?

Random between Zojja, Caithe, QJ, Eir, or some not-rytlock Charr guy (don’t play Charrs at all), make them not account bound.
People can get gold, or a mini of their choice, with their birthday gift.
I have 4 sylvaris and 2 asuras, no I do not want Queen Jenna, I already just got Ellen.

I really would like a Caithe mini for my Sylvari. My charr has Rytlock and I plan to get Logan for 1 of my Humans. Hmmm yes my Asura would like Zojja too, my Norn has one of those norn minis for now so I guess for the set I would like all of destiny’s Edge!

I have two characters, and I favor the Guild Wars ( 1 ) method; RNG. Like another poster mentioned, as long as they’re not account-bound, they’re free to be traded. The Mini-Pet market was pretty good in the original for the entirety of the game ( except year 3, I’d have to re-check that though, one year was just fugly mini’s ).

I find it ironic that most of the time we hate RNG but now we are asking for it…

Im also fine with less RNG. Basically, NO, dont do any RNG, just give us few nice things and allow us to be happy with that.

ANet doesn’t want you to have all the things, just because you made a bunch of chars at release. Still, would have been nice to see some random mini-gifts so people could get different ones.
