As a longtime RP’er I’ve always enjoyed creating stories with friends within the MMO game worlds we play within. Guilds with a story, and characters creating their own histories together as days pass create a level of immersion that is both fun and rewarding in its own right.
I have to say though that I’m very disappointed in the lack of areas that guilds can use as a backdrop for meeting places and bases of operations. I won’t get into player housing and guild halls (although we desperately need something here!), enough simple empty buildings would suffice that are not stuffed with NPCs and their chatter. 99% of the buildings are not accessible, and it leaves very few options.
It seems RP’ers are always an afterthought for every game developer, it’s very disappointing.
