I am not sure if this has been answered or even talked about however:
I really would like to change the race of my character and I understand the limitations of personal story/whatever that would need to either be reset or something drastic to resolve those issues however…
I think it should be a possibility.
On a slightly related note. Male Sylvari have this issue where a sheathed hammer hovers about 2ft above their head. Fix this please its really aesthetically frustrating.
