Some of my guildies and I want race change, Im sure hundreds of people who dont look at the forums do too. We should have the option to change race after hitting level 80 and completing all personal story quests (complete Killing Zhaitan and Meet Destiny’s Edge at Fort Trinity.) As for cultural armors, Refund purchases and delete armor or people will have to just deal with it, just as if they bought bag slots on a character that’s deleted or purchased the wrong type of armor for their profession.

You have options to change gender/hairstyles and soon will have option to change character name. It shouldn’t be a commitment on race too. For example some want to change after finding out Asura dungeon armors dont look as good on them then Human dungeon armors do.

You already have the ability to change races. Roll up an alt character.

Because where the devs spend their limited time and resources affects us all.

At this current time, it will not happen. But It’s only time, the amount of money it could make is irresistible

What about your story? You can’t redo all your story quests after you have already defeated Zhaitan!

Race change <3 want it so bad.

Change all 80s that are not asura, into asura! Muwahaha!

Not going to happen for the exact reason Sairenkao pointed out.

This isn’t WoW, RIFT or ToR where your story is influenced by faction (or class in the case of ToR) not race. In GW2 each race has a personalized story with unique choices at least at the start, sure it converges around level 30 into essentially the same story -but- for those first 20 levels your story is completely unique. In order for you to get a race change they (A.Net) would need to do the following:

1. Automatically choose for you your starting path and the decisions you made, giving you zero input in your personal story.

2. Allow you to restart those missions and somehow have the decisions you’ve made shape the story you’ve already completed.

3. Allow you to restart the entire story fresh.

None of those three by the way are optimal uses of developer time. In the case of 1 and 3, people would complain that the choice was taken out of their hands/they have to restart the story again. For 2 it would require a ton of coding to get it implemented, we’re talking weeks to months of work which would cost the company a lot more than it makes.

So… I could be a sylvari who spend his entire childhood practicing in fahrar with his fellow cubs?
How does that not break the immersion?

i really hope a race change would come! Dont care if it would cost any money, gems or whatever. Some people just see the problem with it and i dont reall know what the kitten is wrong with them? iknow that it is about the personal story but hey guess what? just play it again or have a counter part of the story that goes over to the race changed character.

And cut the bs about “roll a new one”.
