I apologize for the wall of text, and I thank those of you who are patient or curious enough to read it.
Each race would have one class that no other race can play as, a class that fits for the respective race. Here’s a few things I thought up, It’s all a very rough sketch of a concept I think would be interesting and would maybe lead people to play other races that they might not want to otherwise. maybe other people can come up with more ideas.
The Asura Golemancer
The Asura Golemancer would have access to golems and would use golems that could have skills similar to that of the Raving Asura in fractals. It would be the master of minions, in a way that necro and ranger can’t. Trait lines could be named after each different golem you are able to summon, and would improve that golem. Or the traits could improve certain abilities. Utilities could be inventions asurans had made to accomplish various goals, apply conditions, or what have you.
The golems could be controlled in a manner similar to ranger pets, or an entirely new way. Maybe the golemancers wouldn’t have access to conventional weapon swap, but would would be able to use a unique control panel as a secondary weapon with no cooldown swap to issue commands to the golems. Or the F1-F5 keys could be used for this, and the golemancer would have access to conventional weapon swap.
The Norn Monk(or shaman)
The Norn Monk (or shaman) would focus on channeling of spirits and ancestors. There could be a trait line for Bear, Raven, Snow Leopard, Wolf, and Ancestors. The Monk would use a unique weapon called Conduits from their trainer (Purchaseable with various currencies) that would give them access to the spirit world, and could be held on the person and restricting weapon usage, but giving them access to powerful Spirit Magics. A swap system close to that of the Elementalist could be used, but instead of swapping between elements, they would swap between channeling the strengths of different spirits.
While honoring Bear, they would have access to defensive, bunker-style skills. While honoring Raven they’d have access to Raven’s wisdom, bestowing boons and cleansing conditions. While honoring Snow Leopard, they’d have the skills to fight prey with burst and stealth, and while honoring wold they would be able to fight with sustained damage and bleeds, whittling at foes like a wolf might bleed its prey. While honoring their ancestors (and this is where it could get really interesting with customization), you’re skills would be dependent on your personal story, and what decisions and paths you take. A vigil shaman who chose the death of an innocent option from the pale tree might have greater access to healing spells, stuff like that!
