Guild Wars 2

Every profession has it’s own trait pool that you can allot point to, but how about another trait line that rather than be specific to profession choice it would be specific to the race you’ve chosen. This trait line would feed off it’s own points awarded every 2 levels up to 60 and could provide a number of benefits to that player’s race either through it’s skills or to the character attributes. The traits would follow the theme of the race just like it’s skills. Of course it would obviously be PvE only.

There are two ways this can possibly work out:

• 1 race has slightly (or not so slightly) better traits and become the favorite

• all races have absolute trash trait lines and no one uses them.

I think the second one is more likely, especially if you look at racial skills.

Also, Anet already stated multiple times that they don’t intend on making big distinctions between races because of the obvious balance issues.
