How about offering race change as something that can be bought from the gemstore

ANet stated some time ago they won’t implement race change to GW2.

I think theres 20 topics about this subject, Unfortunely i don´t think its going to happen. I would love to take my Thief and change from Charr. The medium armor is terrible for Charr, Heartseeker animation,daggerstorm, and a few others really start to bore me.
have over 900 hours play on that thief, but i somewhat lost want to play him of late, unless i have to act as Commander. I hope at some point i can change it into any other race. Charr´s are a cool race, I do like them. But for Thief.. Not so much

This topic has been discussed many times, the fact alone that the page url is https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/Race-change-18 (note the 18 and the end) implies that there’s already been 17 previous posts with exactly the same title. Wonder why the mods don’t combine these topics…

Sorry, while there may be a sex change, you can NEVER get a race change. Be proud of yourself and your heritage!

I’m a believer that money solves these problems. If Anet feels there is money to be made here then its worth pursuing. If people continue to make posts about it over and over it has to be something that they discuss.

cant belive how stubborn people can be… if u think some things should not change, DONT USE THE GOD kitten race change then?

Keep enjoy your characters as they are but just saying these stupid comments all the time about “deal with it, wont happen” like u know that, if people want to race change, LET THEM DO IT! Jesus christ stop care for stuff u dont care for!

They would have to deal with the Storyline Quests – Not happening
They would have to deal with Cultural Armor – Not happening
They would have to deal with Racial Skills – Not happening.

If you want to spend money so badly, please buy a character slot.

Just make it available for chars who’ve already finished the race storyline. As for the cultural armor and racial skills, the player wanting to change race would have to lose those and suck it up.

1: They don’t have to deal with story line. It can stay the same or the change can only applied after completing it.
2: No problem. Auto unequip, then you can’t use what you got as cultural. Buy the new one, because you wanted to change your race.
3: It changes. No problem again. Some race has much more underpowered racials anyway…

Character slot? Boring to re-level one up and rebuy all the things. Even expensive, while we got no real option to get gold legally.

Yet we always find the true reason behind “Race Change” threads every time…

Pure laziness to level another character.

I have 8 character slots with all 5 races and all 8 professions represented. No need for race changes. And from a programmer’s POV, the Cultural Armors and the Personal Story would be a coding nightmare NO MATTER when you want to do a race change. The Personal Story alone is based off character creation and no two races have the same options during creation.

Quit being lazy and just make a new character (whether through the purchase of a new slot or deleting an existing character) with the race you want instead of taking the easy way to 80 with one race then conveniently change to another that you may have found was “harder” to level up.
