I know… it takes a lot of work to make an armor set and you want to reach a wider audience rather than just 1/5 of the game population, but…
What about letting us buy or earn the NPC armor? After all, it’s already in the game.
It would really be a boon for the non-human races. As it feels like nearly every armor designed outside of cultural armor (and some dungeon sets) is designed for humans and just adjusted, perhaps even awkwardly, for other races.
For example, I would love to have the Norn Raven Shaman armor. I might even consider buying it from the gem store, particularly if there were some sort of skin wardrobe or costume person like there was in GW1 or even if skins were stored like the new achievement skins are and if the skin were not just one-time, one-character use. I was considering making a Norn caster just so I could wear the Raven set, but I’m so glad I didn’t because I would have been really annoyed without the Raven set option. And really, Norn lady casters can’t have that much affinity for the generally frilly female scholar look. And no offense to anyone who’s lady Norn scholar isn’t wearing cultural or Honor of the Waves, but it tends to look awkward on them to me. Aren’t they too practical/muscular/etc for it? I love the Norn cultural armor, but I feel like I don’t have many options as, in particular Norn ladies, would like to be more practical rather than frilly, more leather/furs rather than metal, etc. Love the T3 for the Norn heavy armor, but honestly, that’s about the only heavy armor I really like on a Norn female. Cultural T2 looks too Roman Gladiatory for me, and Cultural T1 doesn’t show off any tattoos as it’s completely covered. Honor of the Waves is good, but not great. Like the bear head thing, but again – I can’t see any tattoos. And.. I want the armor to look like it’s for a Norn. Not just a human port. Norn medium armor is fantastic, but more variety can’t hurt.
I’d also love more leafy options for my Sylvari. Sylvari are in desperate need of more cultural armor. It makes no sense that they can only shed and regrow their leaves in 4 different ways (cultural plus twilight arbor) – and they can’t have that much of an affinity for cloth – shouldn’t it be the odd Sylvari who prefers cloth? And some NPCs are using some really neat sets that I’d love to obtain.
Note: I’m commenting on Norn and Sylvari more because I have had more trouble finding a good set for them and I’ve seen great NPC sets for them. Now… with female Charr…. I’m having a major problem, but that’s a whole different story (can’t necessarily be fixed with NPC armor and I haven’t looked at the NPCs in the Black Citadel because I don’t like the Black Citadel – my favorite cities are Hoelbrak and The Grove).
As I said, they’re already in the game, so why can’t we obtain them somehow? Even if it is just via the Gem Store.
