Those are my suggestions. Anything short of that will most likely mean I will never log on to GW2 again after 4/4/14.

Okay goodbye then.

Especially at the subscription part, just.. what the hell.

Gear Progression and Subscription Fees are a tumor upon mmo’s.

False. Sub is honest, every other model forces the devs to try and trick you to get money out of you.

False.
If I buy gems in guild wars 2 (And I don’t even have to, everything can be bought with ingame gold) I actually get something in return. I don’t pay just to be able to keep playing.

And if they did implement a mandatory sub and continuous vertical gear treadmill, chances are more than just you would stop logging in.

The moment GW2 becomes pay to play is the day I leave. I can’t afford a subscription fee.

I can however save up money in my entertainment fund to buy gems. I have yet to buy any gems. Nothing in there is worth me spending money for.

in the spirit of the OPs ideas, I have some I’d like to propose of my own…
*epic new dungeons that cant be reached
*invincible bosses
*random permanent bans every hour on the hour
*new and exciting WoW Bosses, Classes, and a pay to win system
*a new grind intensive build system where you craft new balanced skills similar
to the process of Legendaries
*Fees attatched to the subscription for not logging on for at least 6 hours
a day ($3 maybe)
*Khoala Bear enemies that replace the Dragons of Tyria
*some new areas accessible only by the invite of The Council of Elitists

These are my main dreams but, it’s quite an undertaking so maybe just a couple at a time to ensure quality and happiness of the community.

*short of these changes I would compromise with a deportation of all WoW Fanboys
and their terrible, egocentric ideas

Raids would be good, Gear progression as is just fine, don’t want it to turn into constant gear grind. Subscriptions i would rather say no.

Raiding and gear progression would be awesome and will attract many players indeed, but leave the subs fee alone please, it´s good like this !

You developers should really consider this! If we have dungeons, why not take the next step!

Why wait till 4/4/14, quit now, save time and go somewhere you will enjoy right away, and not ruin this game for everyone else.

Well, Tequatl is pretty much setup like a raid event now, with all the planning required for a smooth run. And, if they are planning on making the other dragons (The Shatterer and The Claw of Jormag) like him, we will get some more options for high end content.

What is lacking is a proper way to set up those fights; Tequatl can’t be done with random pugs now so, you have to rely on fine folks like TTS. It would be nice if there was an in-game way to set-up to the event, like giving the ability to commanders to start an overflow for their squad. The commander could talk to an NPC – like Warmaster Narru for Tequatl – to set up the group and other players could then ask the same NPC to join the battle with this commander.

As for gear progression, it’s a no go for me; Guild Wars 1 was not about gear and Anet built the game on the principle that it would not be about grinding better stats. They scared a lot of people when they added ascended – even I was worried about the start of a gear treadmill – but, it was well thought out in the end. Just adding more levels and gear is not the “progression” I’m looking for; I would rather have more different viable builds than simply getting better stats.

And adding a subscription? Why add something that goes against one of the main selling points of the game? A lot of people picked Guild Wars (1 and 2) for the fact that there is no subscription, me included. Also, adding one guarantees in no way that we will have faster or bigger releases. Even IF a sub really gives them a bigger budget than the micro-transactions, more money does not automatically equals better quality; more often than not, it equals more waste.
