Legendary SoloQ
Range Indicator!
Legendary SoloQ
The first suggestion is already in the game.
If you are not in range of your target, they have a basic red aura around them. But when you get in range, the red aura becomes more prominent, letting you know you are in range.
As well, there is red bars under your skills if you are out of range to use that ability. And AoE circles will light up red if you try to place them out of range as well.

There is a range indicator now. The skill bar indicates whether the target is out of range when a red bar appears under the skill.
I’m going to vote no for the max distance on blink, sometimes I want to only go a short way.
One thing that made the playing experience a whole lot more definitive as far as actual range went, was the aggro-circle in the compass of GW1. I’ve said we need this implemented in this game from the start, even from Beta, as there’s a lot less guess-work involved. By observing how far you are away from targets you’d just look at the compass for reference, before either attacking or getting attacked.

There are pro’s and con’s to this – well not so much cons, but things that make it moot.
The range circle indicator in GW1 worked because you could see enemies as little dots on the compass map. GW2 doesn’t have enemy dots on the map (which I am thankful for and was quite glad of when they announced it because it does make the game feel a little more immersive), so having a range indicator on the minimap without anything helpful to gauge it off would be kind of useless. I suppose you could work it out off the terrain, but that seems just as iffy :S?
It’s an interesting suggestion though.
I remember from one of the beta weekends there was a different kind of range indicator on the skill bar and it was MUCH easier to understand. The little red lines are too small >.>

I think he means that if you happened to try to blink further than what the range is, it would just teleport you as far as it can (because blinking to the max range in a fight can be painful when you get the “out of range” message).
You could still teleport short distances, but going over the maximum would always teleport you to the maximum range.
Which actually is something id want to see in game.
