Success is my only option, failure is not.
Ive been playing the game for quite awhile now and tried every classes in game. I can say that in guild wars 2, you get rewarded more if you do damage through melee. I feel that when you go in range mode in GW2 you are penalize for it, though you get the advantage of doing damage first in range, it lacks mobility in my opinion. Also the damage isn’t that great compare to melee cause of game mechanics, most range builds are build for damage and unfortunately we don’t have enough option to back our self up if we don’t kill the target in range. So the other option is to have a melee set with you all the time, but if you are built for power there are minimal chance you will survive once they get close to you.
Another example of range being bad in game is through dungeons, Catacombs everyone? obstructed message everywhere when you try to DPS burrows on part 1 and 3. I find this on Ranger and Thief.
Its frustrating seeing how power range build in this game is lacks mobility. That’s the main issue for me when it comes to range, the mobility to save your kitten when they get close to you. A lot of professions have a lot of option to get closer to you, why don’t range set up get a few more ways to put distance that are not in a 30+ CD (utility skills)
