I quit playing somewhere around 6 months ago, because I just wasn’t feeling much motivation to keep logging in. One of my biggest frustrations was the fact that my ranger’s pet names were lost if I swapped out the pets in the active slots.

I hopped back online today, and thought, “Hey, I bet the pet names are at least fixed now.” NOPE.

I know I’m not the first person to ask for this. I’m pretty confident I won’t be the last. I realize this might seem like a minor issue to many people. But the game has been out for a full year now, and I still can’t retain pet names beyond the two in the active slots? That’s absurd, and it’s frustrating, and frankly, it’s kind of a deal-breaker for me. I was excited about how easy GW2 made it to swap between a large variety of pets, but I don’t have any desire to use that if I have to rename my pets every fracking time I want to see them.

Fo’ reals, guys. Why do we still not have this functionality?

That’s why there are so many ‘unnamed’ pets around. People can’t be bothered to rename them when the name gets wiped the moment you change to a different pet. It’s annoying, not to mention confusing, when you’re running around trying to find new pets and every ‘juvenile’ animal you come across is someone’s unnamed pet.

Agree! It’s annoying and rangers that havn’t tamed all pets get the “charm” option if they get close to anorher rangers unnamed pet… even more annoying! It’s sad and the feeling of bonding gets very much lost beacause of this…

I Always name my pets… I have sacrificed myself to do so too many times by now…. I wont give up my ranger because of this though!

You get used to the current bugs that have been around since launch. But it’s okay, they have a 2-week golem for sale in gem shop. All is well.
